I'll comment - it sucks. What used to be the show's weakest point - Winston - is now the only part of the show I love. Everything else has been a complete mess this season.

Its lost it for me. I thought the Nick/Jess shipping sucked the life out of the show. A lot of shows have a decent premise but can't sustain the interest over time.

Yeah i was checking this thread because I had bailed on the show in February after 2 1/2 seasons. As skyehill pointed out Winston and the cat were the only funny parts anymore. A co worker of mine who is a superfan of the show said the same thing about Nick and jess becoming a couple. It was a horrible idea and it's killed the show.

I watched tonight and will still watch in the fall.

My advice for the show:

a)Get Jess and Nick back together

b)GET RID OF SCHMIDT!

c)Have CeCe  move in

d)Do NOT put this show up against 2 broke girls

a) Yes.
b) No! But make him more like he was before the CeCe breakup.
c) It'd be a bit crowded but OK.
d) I have no idea why anyone likes that show, but its ratings are good, so yeah.

Schmidt since the breakup is not funny and basically an unbearable character.

I watched 2 broke girls for about half of the first season for pure eye candy reasons. That show is terrible

Ditto, bring back more douche jar material!
Same with 2BG, couldn't get past a few episodes.

I thought this was a strong opening episode to the season. Winston breaking down the possible foursome was entertaining.

Agreed, that was a great opening episode. Getting tired of the Schmidt chasing Cece storyline that never seems to disappear though. Jessica Biel was hawwwwwt.

I thought it was just 'meh'. Winston with the salt and pepper and Jessica Biel explaining her superiority were the only real highlights. The Ross/Rachel thing with Schmidt and Cece is SOOOOO 1994.

Surprised that the last post here was year and a half ago!

Anyway, IMO this season has been really solid. Even with Zooey out for a few episodes (due to pregnancy) we never really missed her because the rest of the case was so good.

Anyone else here still watching New Girl?

I actually think the episodes w/o Zoey were the best ones of the season. Megan Fox was hysterical. Generally the season has been solid. I'm an episode behind. But I did think that the "prank" episode was super boring and lame. I decided to watch it last night because I had a really rough day and needed a laugh, and that episode did not deliver a single one.

This show is like a cockroach. Just when you think it's been pounded to a wet spot, it somehow survives for another season. Even though the ratings are pretty bad (0.9/2.1 million) it's almost identical with other Fox shows like The Mick and Bones and higher than Sleepy Hollow.

I would not be surprised if it returns next year or alternatively goes to Hulu to partner with The Mindy Project because it has a built in audience.

Every year I like this show less and less. The more stupid and ridiculous they make Winston the more I just hate what the writers have done to him.

I'm not their target market but a while back I deleted its season pass. Stopped watching before then and it was simply wasting space on the DVR.

I stopped watching a season or two ago. The season finale where Coach left. It kinda seemed like a good enough series ender in my mind.

Odd, because I can't really remember any show I don't watch until the very end. Rather liberating. really :

Welcome to the club. Lately I've been dumping shows right and left. Many which I had been following for years. Having Amazon Instant Video and Netflix has made me much more selective in order to shoe horn these new programs into my full schedule.

Yeah... I watch this show out of habit as much as anything else. It feels like it has ran its course... I pretty much never look forward to it and only watch it because... and usually only watch it when I've exhausted everything else.

Just watched the season six finale'... sure felt like a series wrap?

-We finally learn Schmidt's first name after six seasons
-Schmidt and Cece have a house and are expecting
-Winston and Aly are getting married
-Winston's mom learns he's a cop
-Winston gets in touch with his estranged dad
-Nick's book in getting published
-Nick and Jess admit their love for each other

Seems like all are ready to go their own way....is it done?

I loved this show right up till the end and it was one of the few 'must see' shows for my wife and I this season. And yes, this was definitely written to work as a season finale. Nothing concrete has been announced so far about whether it will be picked up or not (probably a lot will depend on how well FOX's new pilots test with audiences before the upfronts). But Jake Johnson wasn't too hopeful in an interview back in March: http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-season-6.html
