It looks like, from the last scene of the current episodes, that the sister didn't know that she was pregnant. I thought that might have been the case.

Then again we've known for a long time that The CW sucks. Of all the OTA networks, The CW is the worst when it comes to sucking program time out of a show.

If you thought that yesterday's airing seemed a little short, it was. The program was only 41:52 in length.

There should be a law that stops this sh!tty practice.

That FBI guy is skating on pretty thin ice in the last episode. She didn't know her sister was a vegitarian?

Bridget's cover, as her sister is being blown up more quickly than I thought, and the ratings are being blown more quickly than I had hoped. Sigh... Ringer was down something like 25% from last week. A very bad sign.

Yes. How rude of the network to decide for themselves how long to make the free entertainment they are providing to you with no obligation on your part to watch. We definately should pass legislation about that, given that all our other social problems have been fixed and the economy is rolling along just fine.

Then with my Tivo I should be able to watch Ringer in a little over 30 minutes

I got the impression that her sister wasn't always a vegetarian... plus it's ok anyway since more than one pregnant woman has had to go off the vegetarian diet during pregnancy... so Bridget has the built-in excuse.

I'm also trying to remember where I've seen the girl playing her friend... she keeps looking familiar to me, but I can't figure out why.

Yep, it is getting to the point where the viewers are getting fed up with the constant commercial clutter.

As it turns out, 41:52 is the longest episode of the season. The first was 40:42, then 2nd was 40:58 and the 3rd was the worst at 40:31.

You might like having 20 minutes of clutter during an hour show, but I certainly do not.

It's a death spiral. The lower the percentage of programming to commercial time, call it signal (programming) to noise (commercial and promotion) ratio. The lower the signal to noise ratio, the more likely the viewers are to use DVRs to skip the commercials. The more the commercials are skipped, the lower the income, so the need to further increase commercial time, which drives more and more viewers to commercial skipping.

Following up and answering my own question... Gemma is played by Tara Summers (yes, this info I gleaned by watching the credits)... but where I was remembering her from was "Boston Legal".

I wasn't making the connection because she was a blonde on that show and also spoke with her British accent there as well.

In a lot of cases it does not. What is needed is foreign sales and if the show lives long enough, off-net sales and DVD/Blu-ray sales.

In the case of the CW, since they do not have a production arm (other than parent company CB S Studios), they need to bring in what they pay in license fees. The license fees might be less than what it costs to make an episode, because of the hoped for above mentioned other income.

Keep in mind the old argument that the broadcast network affiliates get to use the broadcast spectrum for free and are therefore doing so at the whim of the government. They could, but never will, enforce a minimum program length and number of commercial clusters, just like the U.K.

This info could have been quickly found by either going to my Ringer web page and looking at the quick reference guide and selecting the Gemma link, taking you to the IMDB web site. You could have then scanned her list of shows and had the Boston Legal entry ring a bell.

Or you could have gone directly to the IMDB site and gone to the Ringer show entry and gone down the list of actors and select her link that way.

The IMDB can be your friend. There has been many a time that iI've wondered where I've seen such-n-such actor before and used IMDB to usually solve the riddle.

That Bridget is one naughty girl. She is doing her brother-in-law while her sister is presumed dead. I do not like the way her true identity is revealed. It's way too quick and ordinary. The friend should have blackmailed her with the information for some lesbian love. That way the friend could get even with her cheating husband by sleeping with Bridget. Eventually they all make up and have a threesome.

Save that for the eventual lesbian soft porn parody, 'Finger', coming soon to Cinemax.

I'm out too. This last episode verged into chick flic soap opera formula territory. Someday US broadcast networks will figure out why the UK has 6 episode seasons. It's easier to keep things interesting with fewer episodes.

That is ultimately what I did... and it took all of a few seconds...

To be fair, though, I've seen cases where IMDB has a bit of Wikipedia in it... by which I mean, people have added inaccurate stuff yet to be corrected... so while it works in this case because I have the Boston Legal DVDs and can quickly say "oh yeah, I'm an idiot for forgetting her"... if there was just text and no pics... I would have to find a corroborating source to be sure.

That was a pretty good episode of Ringer last night. I liked the way the show would make you think something bad had happened; and then reveal that it was something completely different. Like when Juliet told her father that the real reason she hates Siobhan, is because Siobhan sleeps with married men. I'm thinking, "Oh no. Juliet knows about Siobhan cheating on Andrew." But then it turns out that Juliet was actually referring to the fact that Siobhan had slept with her father, Andrew, when he was still married to his previous wife, Juliet's mother.

The show also tricked me when Juliet "caught" Bridget at the Narcotics Anonymous meeting. I'm enjoying all the twists and turns of the plot.

I was shocked when Gemma tried to blackmail Bridget into sleeping with her husband, so that she could get everything in a divorce. I was even more shocked that Henry murdered Gemma. I was expecting her to get into a car accident, and end up in a coma or something; not get murdered.

Ringer has a trashy soap opera feel to it that I'm really enjoying right now.

'Ringer' Picked Up by CW for Full Season
By Tim Kenneally, TheWrap.com - October 12th, 2011

Sarah Michelle Gellar fans, breathe easy: "Ringer" will be sticking around for a while.

The CW has picked up the series for a full season, an individual with knowledge of the decision confirms to TheWrap. Gellar, the former star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," plays a woman on the run from the mob who assumes the identity of her wealthy twin sister -- only to find that she has troubles of her own.

The show is an especially important one for the CW as the network tries to expand beyond its target audience of young women.

The series, which premiered on Sept. 13, showed strong gains on Tuesday night's airing, posting ratings growth across the board, including a 33 percent jump in the sought-after adults 18-49 demographic. It had a .8/2 in the demo and 1.7 million total viewers.

The network will need the extra episodes that the full-season order will bring. CW recently decided to double up on its airings of the series, also running it on Wednesday nights, in place of the recently yanked reality series "H8R."

"Ringer" started off slow but it's gotten better each episode.

Last episode was good and I'm going to watch it again.

Glad to see the back 9 picked up.

Gemma calls from her home, desperately asking to tell this guy like everything since Bridget failed on the agreement. But it seems hubby gets there first, they confront about the cheating, they fight, guy has the upper hand and "accidentally" kills her with a blow to the head with a lamp. Like moments later guy comes asking for Gemma, the killer makes some excuse and sends him away.

But still camera doesn't show the actual dead body, she could be comatose or guy killed someone else or something.

(pardon I forgot those 2 dudes names, I only know Bridget, She-bon and Gemma)

They also didn't show anything on She-bon in France...

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

The way this show has been going, the various clues they gave us leading us to conclude that Gemma has been killed are all red herrings. The conclusion is just too obvious, like a few for this week that faked us out.

The previews for next week show some dialog that goes a bit further than the actual aired stuff this week.

They have done some misdirect, especially in this latest episode a couple of times! But I think this is a mis-mis-direct... since they misdirected a couple of times, I think they want us to doubt it until next week when they probably will show him digging a grave to bury the body or something definitive.

I like Tara Summers... but this feels like the kind of show where people who find out about Bridgette are not long for the world.

What on Earth is Bridget thinking? I can't think of any possible reason for her to intentionally put her fingerprint on the broken, bloody vase fragment. And it's her fingerprint, not Siobhan's. Even twins have different fingerprints.

I wasn't surprised to see that the real Siobhan had Gemma murdered or kidnapped and imprisoned. Siobhan is definitely the evil twin.

Kudos to the above posters that correctly guessed that Henry cleaned the crime scene because he thought he was protecting Siobhan.

I'm pretty disappointed in the lead FBI agent, Victor. He shouldn't have gone into that strip club the first time. He unintentionally tipped off the bad guys to move Malcolm to a different location. So that when Victor returned later, with the search warrant, they had already moved him. And how could he have noticed the cigarette butts, but not noticed that spoon on the ground? Not a very thorough search. I expected more from Victor. Insert Lost related joke (don't read if you haven't watched the ending to Lost):

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

You'd think he'd be wiser after spending hundreds of years on the island on Lost. And how on earth did he even pass the background check to become an FBI agent? Or does the FBI know how old he is?

I am 100% certain that Bridget is going to find out that she is actually pregnant . . . with Malcolm's baby! Andrew's going to be pretty surprised when when Bridget gives birth to a half black baby. Bridget's gonna have some explaining to do.

I love that Bridget's new NA sponsor is working for Siobhan. What does he get out of all of this; or is he just working for money? And I wonder if he's just pretending to be a cop, or if he actually is a cop. I still don't know what Siobhan's end game in all of this is.

In keeping with the soap opera feel to the show, I'd like to see Gemma turn up alive a couple of episodes from now. But she'll have... wait for it... amnesia!
