They will show the first game later today on tape delay, depending on when the NFL is airing the game in the local market. Fox is mainly interested in the 18-34 male demo that grew 76% in viewership last season.

In Chicago though, they are planning to show it midnight after the Emmy's and not after the Bears game. I don't get FSC in HD and this would have been perfect to watch after the NFL game. Any other markets doing the same thing?

FOX Broadcasting Company (NASDAQ:NWS), the national broadcasting network, will televise the first ever Premier League match on free-to-air television in the United States on Sunday, February 5, 2012, according to a source. The clash between Chelsea and Manchester United will be shown live on Super Bowl Sunday beginning at 10:30am ET.

In addition to FOX's historic coverage of a live Premier League match, the national FOX network will air three Premier League matches on tape-delay during the 2011-12 NFL season. The schedule of games are:

Sunday, September 18: Manchester United versus Chelsea (tape delay),
Sunday, October 2: Tottenham Hotspur versus Arsenal (tape delay),
Sunday, November 20: Chelsea versus Liverpool (tape delay).

Coming up here in about 10 mins. Curious if anyone watched part of it during the 1pm games and how it looked on Fox Broadcast

Here in Seattle, they're also airing the game late; 1130pm late. Looks like FOX is airing the Emmys twice back-to-back from 5-11pm, plus our local Seahawks game pushed the airing out.

Looking good in KTTV here in LA

I'm watching it now. To me it looks more like widescreen SD, maybe a little better. The game itself seems much better than soccer games like the World Cup that are usually shown over here.

Better than World Cup? That's crazy. What's going on in your town?

xlr231 09-18-2011 04:28 PM

I mean the actual game itself, not the PQ.

That's like saying today's Patriots game against the Chargers is better than the 2010 Pro Bowl.

The players in the Pro Bowl (World Cup) may be, individually, more skilled but the Patriots/Chargers (United/Chelsea) are playing as a TEAM and their livelihoods depends on winning.

The United and Chelsea players work together 5/6/7 days a week whereas the World Cup comes along once every 4 years.

What you were watching today were 2 sets of players who know each other like the players for the Patriots and the Chargers. They might not be the best individual players in their own countries but they are two of the best TEAMS in England (if not the world).

That is why the game was faster, flowed better than World Cup games and, occasionally, the skill was of the highest level. And sometimes it wasn't. :-)

Same here, I was looking forward to watching the game in HD, but because of some Packers post game show after their game it looks like it was bumped all the way back to 10:30 PM.

Dear Fox 9,

It would be great if you TOLD people you had the game on your sister network My29. But no no no can't do that. Don't even have the Comcast guide info tell people that. Instead barely mention it on your Facebook and just expect people to know where its on at. Great job. No wonder why I'm glad MLS is leaving Fox Soccer after this season.

Showing in letterbox SD WFLD in Chicago.

Anybody getting it in HD?

And what a game it was! You can't say "nobody scores in soccer games" after that one.
