Wonder if the 2nd season story arc has Ems marry Daniel and wreak havoc and destruction on the Grayson empire from inside? I hope not. She needs Jack and the dog.

^^^ CBS announces its Fall 2012 schedule tomorrow. Very good chance "The Good Wife" won't be going up against "Revenge" Sundays at night... or not. Stay tuned!

I'm afraid this show is going to turn into to much of a soap opera for me next season. It has quite a bit this season from the action packed begining, but I think this move seals the deal.

Emily VanCamp, Joshua Bowman and Madeleine Stowe were all on a segment of Good Morning America today. I didn't realize that Joshua (Daniel) was a Brit. When he started talking I was really surprised to hear a robust British accent. Ms VanCamp was quite hot and Madeleine Stowe looked much better than I expected. I figured the typical ABC grainy, soft focus effect they use on the show was hiding something but she actually looked much younger and better without it. Sounds like they will be morphing the focus of some characters a bit next season...

No. The DVR is for recording Revenge while watching Sunday Night Football or Downton Abbey

DVRs do a lot of great stuff. I have been using 2 tuner DVRs since 2003 and recently got a 4 tuner TiVo with 2TB of disc storage just so I could record EVERYTHING. Even when I watch something in real time, as I usually do Game of Thrones, I record some of it first so that I can be guaranteed not having to watch the promos for other presentations, which usually precede it.

It was a sleeper hold. Cut off the carotid and knocks the person out in a few seconds although it can be deadly.

Sammy was also the oldest Labrador Retriever in the history of the world. Normal life span for a lab is 10 - 14 years. He was what 17?

I was thinking the same thing. A great many Labs develop hip dysplasia and have to be put down long before they reach 10-14, much less 17. What the hell, though, it was a moving episode anyway and provided a convenient hook to allow Emily and Jack to hookup. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Plot driven, but what a cost! Sammy was my favorite character on the show

I've already warned my wife to have the box of tissues (and our 4 yo cockapoo) on the couch when watching this episode.... very sad indeed.

To add to the Sammy discussion, as soon as I saw him lying there and Jack put the water bowl by his head I was reaching for the tissues because I knew he would be dying by the end of the episode.

I can watch people die on TV and in movies all the time and unless there is a strong connection to them, it doesn't bother me. As soon as an animal dies though, I am a mess. When Emily found him lying on the porch and then when Jack came over and was talking to him, the waterworks started flowing.

RIP Sammy

I think it would have been a great little side plot with Sammy getting older and older and the series goes on. Maybe the writers could even had make it kind of a joke about how old the dog was.

I was a mess when I watched Old Yeller back in '57. Sammy was a little easier to take due to his age but still a tear jerker.

Not sure sure that Nolan is asleep. I did wonder about all of the clocks at the "white hair" guy's place. Good catch by Nolan, just too late.

Old Yeller was the first movie my parents took me to (at a Drive-In Theatre). I was six years old and I cried like a baby when they had to put him down.

You and I must be around the same age. Isn't it cool hanging out with the "young crowd" on AVS and talking about passionate interests together?

Yep, the loss of Sammy was tough and so delicately played. I've been there (as many of us probably have) and that is so difficult, it made it impossible to watch and not be moved by it. And just as I was recovering from the wrenching scene of Sammy on the floor, they had to show him as a puppy with Emily and Jack!

I doubt that Nolan is dead, just down for the count and to be cross-examined by the white haired guy for information. (By the way, isn't that guy the ex-boss of Jack Bauer from 24?) A fun guilty pleasure that I'm glad will be back and hope they can continue to keep interesting. Though I was surprised they counter-programmed it against The Good Wife, with both on Sunday night next season. Good trash vs. excellent drama = DVR workout, especially with all the HBO/Showtime Sunday shows. I want to see both shows survive, but The Good Wife is IMO the best drama on network TV, though it doesn't seem to have the audience I would hope for. Maybe we can get FX to move Justified to that time slot and have a real battle!!

That was a gangbuster ending. They packed a lot into 45 minutes. Left a lot of openings for next season.

My local station butchered the finale with picture and voice dropouts. We had to watch with close-captioning for about 10 minutes because there was music but no voices and the show cut in and out.

Very good season ender. Some shows have gotten good at providing satisfying endings that take cancellation into account, while leaving great openings for renewal. This was like that for me. It's probably much easier for the writers to deal with in a show like this vs. the sci-fi types that just seem to stop in place. Looking forward to the ongoing saga, so "let it play".

I thought the finale was good as well. Even though the TV news announcer said that it was thought that all the passengers aboard the jet had died, I suspect at least one will somehow survive . Based on how things have escalated "up the chain" and "things go deeper than you can imagine" with the coverup etc, I wonder if that may mean an increased role for Takeda next season?

They showed Victoria starting up the steps to enter the jet, but no true evidence that she actually remained. I could easily see her having turned around at the last moment, having re-considered what her testimony would do. Especially after she saw Lydia board ahead of her. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Yes, that could be a distinct possibility. It did seem like they had her kind of hesitate for a moment at the bottom before starting up onto the steps like she was thinking about something anyway...
