Everything seems to be nebulous, nothing in focus, no cohesion. Either the writers and setting lots of things up and will surprisingly tie them all together in a brilliant stroke of writing, or more likely hey don't have a clue and are just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what will stick. The second scenario gets my vote.
