That was quite a reveal at the end. Looks like he is the Boss'es love child. Good stuff.

There's something missing with the whole love child thing. I can't imagine that a woman would get pregnant and not say anything to a guy like Kane or at least try to get some money out of him. Unless she gave him up for adoption or he is the other guys kid. Either way there is too much going on with him. sajac is quite the slimeball politico and his wife would give Meredith a run for her money in the ice queen pageant.

No comments after the last 2 episodes? Last 2 episodes seem not as good as those prior almost as if nothing excitingly new is happening. Watching to see about Kitty now. But she sure is a slimeball just like Sajak.

Haven't seen Friday's ep yet, probably tomorrow. But up through last week, it looks like that experimental treatment may get Kane back in the sanity saddle (but for how long?). Meridith is awesome; Connie Nelson isn't getting enough props for her work on this show. Kitty's ambition knows no bounds. Sajak's a slimy survivor and his wife is a younger, though not necessarily hotter, version of Meridith.

Fact is, there's really nobody to root for on this show; may be its one fault. I find the most sympathetic character to be Darius (the drug dealer boyfriend). At least he's upfront about who he is, has a semblance of a moral code, and his motives appear genuine.

So, let's see.  It's a show about inner city machine politics in Chicago and "there's really nobody to root for".  Imagine my shock!  biggrin.gif  It's also telling that the 'least bad' character is a local drug dealer.  I like this show and think Grammer is doing an excellent job.

I'm rooting for Kane's daughter. A highly disfunctional family leading to a vicious drug habit draws out sympathy from me...and you know she's got heart by her professed love for her grandfather. I'm not justifying her plight completely (for others have risen above their dire circumstances), but out of all the characters in this complex drama, she seems the most vulnerable.

What if Emma falls in love with her possibly half brother? of course he's helping her because it's his sister (we are guessing he knows Kane's his dad)...

Whoa! Did I miss something? I didn't make the connection between Kane's fevered flashback to a woman and her love-child and Ian. Makes sense though....

Ian has the same photo of Kane and his friend with the two women that his friend has in his bar. So it looks as if Kane is his daddy.

Also Kane's flashbacks with that woman, she seemed to be a junkie, just like Ian said to Emma about his mother...

Kane was double crossed and now not knowing what to do... he's surely losing Mona fast... (and control of his hand)

I sense a scorched earth approach in the finale as Kane lashes out at his enemies - which are just about everyone at this point.

Emma and Ian - ick!

If Ian is who we think he is we now have full blown incest. What's next, Conrad Knox selling the remaining nuclear trigger to Tom Kane.

What no talk of the finale??? I thought is was great! Glad that Kitty is back with the boss man! This show rocks and I am going to miss it. Kelsey continues to really shine and is very convincing as a ruthless mayor.

I love Boss too. It is one of my favorite shows and I have a very short list. Kitty knows Kane's big secrets. Can't wait for next season. I always wonder if Rahm Emanuel is watching.

I thought it was great and, overall, this season was more consistent than the last. Setup for next season looks very promising, so I hope Starz renews it.

I enjoyed it as well, although I generally watch this show in 3-4 episode groupings as it's extremely dark and I need to be in a mindset where I can really enjoy it.

Still think it's the best thing Grammer has ever done, but there were several actors that gave some very good performances as well this season, also agree that it was better than the first season.

The last two episodes felt like one complete episode as they gradually and methodically tied up the season's storylines. The mystery of the "gray haired man" was finally solved. I guess that's what Kane's ex-cop and childhood buddy Ryan Kavanaugh was taking care of when he handed a package of money to some mysterious dudes (probably dirty cops) who probably put up all the white supremacist stuff in the gray-guy's apartment (there was an anti-Kane poster there as well) before shooting him and making it seem like a suicide. You'd think the gray haired man would have figured out he had become expendable and taken a powder after doing Kane's dirty work for so long. We also now can surmise why Ezra took his shooting so calmly - he must have expected it and knew who would pull the trigger. We needed an exposition scene with Kitty and Kane to fully explain it, and how Kane was actually behind his own assassination attempt. Interesting that his hallucination of Ezra was what led to Meridith being shot.

So Kitty's back in the fold - she's one ambitious chick. Unlike Ezra, however, she's nonplussed about the ends justifying any means which makes her Kane's perfect lieutenant. Mona's probably gone from the show unless some other Kane enemy (Ross? Sajac?) recruits her. But Ross has been bought off with the casino project. Sajac's wife has come crawling back now that his political fortunes are once again on the rise (due to Kane having Walsh's lover poisoned - that was harsh). And we found out at the end that Kane knew Ian was his son all along with the "proximity" comment! Puts their relationship into some context. Kane would never acknowledge his bastard son, while still hoping the kid shows enough balls to possibly succeed him someday. Still, the whole incest thing - when Kane finds out it's going to be ugly.

I guess Kavanaugh also followed Meridith and let Kane know she was getting frisky with the Mafia guy (Vacarro). That was one chilling ending where Kane almost let her die, then gave her another lecture on power and loyalty. Powerful end to the season. He's back on top, but now he knows his days are definitely numbered.

I can't remember when there's been such a delicious, well-rounded super-evildoer on TV as Tom Kane (maybe Gus Fring from 'Breaking Bad'). Haven't heard anything about a renewal, but am sure hoping for one. Love this show -- sort of makes "ordinary" political corruption look tame by comparison. You watch 'Boss' and say, "Well, it could always be worse." tongue.gif

It's a terrific show with several terrific performances, most notably Kelsey Grammer.  However, from the various blogs on TV, the ratings for this season and the excellent finale have been very poor.  The betting seems to be that we have seen the last episode.  What a shame.

It had never even crossed my mind that there might not be a season three of Boss. For a show of that quality it should be a no brainer, but it is disappointing to hear of low ratings even though now that I think about it, I heard the same thing about season one. I can only hope that Starz does what HBO did with The Wire and keep it going despite the poor ratings.

Agreed. Hopefully the great reviews and awards it has won/ will win may be enough for a 3rd season.

They'll probably keep it. It gives Starz a critical cache that Spartacus doesn't. And I enjoy the Spartacus series', especially the first, for what they are.
