He is bound to show up in flash backs of the fairy tale world but he is certainly dead they said in last weeks episode that even magic cannot undo death.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

I agree, this was a solid episode. When we first saw the wolf with the blood red eye (sounds like a Meatloaf song) I thought we were gonna get Red Riding Hoods back story.

I have no doubt we will see more of the Sherrif...even if it is only in the Fairy Tale world.

Best episode of the season.

I guess I was just going be the fact the she squeeze a heart that was in a vault that was no longer in a living body and it killed someone. It seemed magical to me.

Yep, I'm ordering one now.

One could argue that the magic was put into play in the fairy tale world and anyone could of squeezed the heart, not just the queen.
But the fact remands the whole act of squeezing some out-of-body heart that was pulled out of a person years ago is in fact, magic.
At least it is in my book.

Not only that, but it wasn't a squished, deformed heart that fell from her hands, but dust instead.

So does Emma just need to go around kissing people to get them to remember?

And if so, I'll be looking forward to the Snow White episode.

You guys are missing it, the queen had nothing to do with squeezing the heart to dust, if joe smith would of went down there he could of squeezed it. Sure there was magic involved to have the heart in those containers but that was brought over from the fairy world by the curse and existed before this world. The queen did not use magic to squeeze it or interact with it, any human could of done the same thing, that is why she didn't want anyone in there. Magic initially created it and magic held it here. Turning it to dust was because the heart now no longer exists outside his body and is worthless. If the queen still had magic she would of done a LOT more with it during her time here.

Exactly. Without that magical transfer, the sheriff would still be alive. While she isn't "poof" magic in the real world, there are still things that she can do as a result of her curse. A curse doesn't have to wipe out everything she can do.

HEY-OOOO

Why limit it to just Snow White when they could have a "block-party" orgy where everyone in the village does Emma?

After all we really need to see a lot more of Red in this series too!

I know what you're saying, and you're right. Squeezing the heart isn't magic. But my real issue is with your first statement here:

I believe what we saw in the last episode was magic in the "real world". Sure it was grandfathered in from pre-curse, but still, it worked.
The way the show is playing out, we don't know all the rules of the curse, what all the queen gave up, etc.

Anyway, at least the last episode gave us something to talk about and speculate about here. It was getting kind of dull.
I'm really wanting to see how the queen adopted Henry. I had the impression the people under the curse couldn't leave the town. Heck, maybe even Emma can't leave now. Wasn't she stopped by a wolf the last time she tried to leave?

Anyone could of squeezed the heart, there is nothing she is doing in this world as a result of the curse to give her something special in this world, Joe Smith who has always lived in the real world could of squeezed the heart too. (man that was a weird sentence )

Because, there is nothing in the show to state that only the queen can do it because the queen has magic. It is a normal world (with magical elements carried over). She was upset someone was in there. More signs point to the fact that anyone could do it then not. There are no signs the queen has magic, nothing at all. Everything she did was non-magical. She physically moved the coffin. She physically opened the container. When she had magic she waved her hand to open/close things, she used magic to open the right box, etc. All signs point to that no one there can still cast magic.

I just caught up with the series after bing out of town. That was a great last show; I wish it hadn't taken a month off. There are definitely a lot of interesting twists.

My hope is that they do have an overall plan and don't just start playing it by ear after half a season or a season like so many of these shows do. (i.e. Star Trek voyager - they can never get home or the show would end; in this case we can't have the curse ending or people getting their memories back o rthe show would end).

You do realize that Voyager was planned to run 7 seasons and they didn't play it by ear. They got home on the last episode of the 7th year. Just like TNG and DS9, they were all written for 7 years.

LOL ... well for some of us, Voyager ended abruptly and rudely about 1/2 through, banished to a 100W UHF repeater station that covered about 2 city blocks. In retrospect, I suppose it was a bit of a mercy killing.

To be fair... Next Gen wasn't planned for 7 years... It was written as they went along, then the cast wanted to move on and they decided to do TNG movies and decided to end at 7... After that, though, I believe it became a conscious decision to end the others at 7 if they made it that long.

Back on topic though.... If they break the curse then the series will end... But they can't drag it out for too long either. I really think this is a 1-2 season show paced properly, otherwise there will begin to be stagnation.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!
