They were mesmerizing! Looks like the writers were similarly stimulated for great material this week, as well.

I need your sweet love, Rosetta Stone girl!

I thought the new girl was great during the Pantene ad. So glad they gave it to her instead of Kristen. I love Kristen, but let the new girl shine.

It took Kristen Wiig leaving to finally kill off the painfully unfunny "Gilly" sketches, lets hope they can give "The Manuel Ortiz Show" a rest without Fred Armisen leaving SNL first.

I thought both of the "One Direction" skits were pretty funny, they really made those guys look like idiots. Was that the first SNL without a music performance scheduled?

It's weird that Wiig announced last year that she had retired Penelope and Gilly, yet there was Gilly again.

I loved Almost Pizza. Especially how it broke like glass on the floor.

Agree. That was hysterical. Kind of like "The Thing", or "Terminator", reconstituting itself and scurrying away to safety! Probably because it was genuinely original, and first-time concept. I don't remember every seeing that idea before, the exact opposite of the tired Gilly skits.

Same with "Kids of Paris", which was raved about here on the SNL thread the first time it was seen. Between the inspired dancing of Nassim and Tarram and others, and a very original never-before-seen idea, we were all struck by its novelty and cleverness, not to mention that it was visually and sonically appealing and entertaining.

That's also why I was so thoroughly amused with that Sophia/Penelope "hot Latina English teleprompter mis-reading" idea showing off the new girl last night. I didn't know where it was going originally (since I'd not seen one like it before), but once I realized that Kate/Penelope couldn't actually figure out how to pronounce the long scientific words fast enough for the ad, and that she was essentially just speaking fake-English fake-Spanish gibberish doubletalk which was made all the more humorous by the onscreen "subtitles" of what she was supposed to be saying... well I really began to laugh hard. I went backed and watched it a second time, again laughing hard, because her improvisational 2nd-language-English mispronunciation of what she was seeing in words on the teleprompter was so bizarre and funny. Very very funny idea... AND NOVEL..., and performed beautifully by both of them. That's funny!

Forgot to give kudos to Tarram Killam for his Michael Cera impression in that skit featuring Abby Elliot doing a great job in “Bein’ Quirky with Zooey Deschanel”. I even liked Kristen as Drew Barrymore. And Sophia as Fran Drescher was terrific (great to look at, great Fran laugh), although I did have some trouble making out all of the words clearly... although who cares, really?

I think Tarram may be being groomed as the new Jason Sudeikis go-to guy for high-concept skits including Bill Hader, costumes and makeup, celebrity impressions, etc. Deadweight Paul Brittain is gone, which is a good thing.

WHERE IS NASSIM??? Why don't they use her more???

I loved the first Kids of Paris skit. Emma Stone was great in it. One of my all-time favorite skits I've ever seen on SNL is the really weird potato chip NASA skit. I've definitely never seen anything like that prior or since.

Loved Bill's "What the f***?!" response when Almost Pizza smashed on the ground.

That skit was bizarre. I admit, I wasn't amused then, and on watching it again on Hulu here I admit am still not amused. Watching Will Forte scream is not funny to me. And that's the best they could figure out for Blake Lively to do??

I really miss the ESPN commercials with Sudeikis and Forte. When you get a surprise between your thighs, Vagisil!

I guess they ran out of female hygiene products, but those always crack me up and it's amusing to see my wife die laughing at them too.

wow no comments on saturdays show?

one of the better eps this season imho.

loved the opener, the 2 digital shorts (yeah speilberg), the californians,
piers morgan (yeah killiam) and seth is just killing it on weekend update.

his writing just gets sharper and sharper.

couple of skits went too long as usual, but damn good show.

Liked The Californians; sort of a let's-make-Kristin-break exercise. Brolin was good. But overall I thought this one of the weaker shows of the season, if not the weakest.

The open, the two shorts, and Bobby's dancing during the Jay Z skit saved this from being a clunker for me. The worst of the season still goes to Lohan and/or Anna Faris.

That's also one of my favorites ever, and I thought Blake was really funny on it too. "You Don't Take Peoples Po-Tay-To Chips!"

That Gotye song is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. So cool.

Jay Pharoah actually had a funny sketch at the very end. I liked seeing him laugh during it, he doesn't every crack.

The californians with the accent/map directions was a classic.

"what are u doin here?"

They would be even more annoying then the guidos here in jersey.

I think the problem with Weekend Update is that all I can remember of it is Garth and Kat, one of the absolute worst recurring bit on the show. I just dont find it funny. But yeah, I do remember Seth having some good jokes. I think the What Were They Thinking bit needs a 2nd anchor to help with (like Really?!).

One of the funniest things to me about the "Really?!" sketch is Don Pardo's announcing.

Will Ferrell will return to Saturday Night Live on May 12, hosting the second of three consecutive episodes to cap the show's 37th season. The star, who was part of the cast for seven years before leaving in 2002, will host for the third time, with musical guest, Usher.

Eli Manning makes his hosting debut next Saturday, May 5, with Rihanna, and the season's final show of the season will air May 19. A host for the finale has yet to be announced.

No word yet. Alec Baldwin stated back in January on his podcast that Justin Bieber was going to be hosting at some point, but that may have changed.

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has been set to host the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 19.

Jagger's appearance will mark the rocker's first time leading the late-night NBC comedy show and will be his third time as the musical guest.

In 2001, Jagger and Jimmy Fallon appeared in a "Mick & Mick" skit on SNL.

Jagger is now 68 years old. Other than some obvious Moves Like Jagger jokes, I think this show will be more about the leaving cast members than the host.

Booo. Shame on Aaron Rodgers for passing (puns!) on their offer to host the finale.
