Despite some minor technical issues, pregame looked good.

A feed of ESPN2 was just taken to air during the pregame show on ESPN.

ESPN HD FiOS TV

For a dome game the video looks good.
Video switched for a second to the Uconn college basketball game.

It would be nice if ESPN showed the bands playing instead of talking over them and going to commercials.

Those LSU Gals looked pretty good in HD.

Perhaps I misremembered.

ESPN HD FiOS NYC

A little swimming grass on the field and artifacts around the score box.
It's 100% better then any FOX Broadcast on WNYW-DT.

Picture quality looks great. The main cameras from the mid level sideline look pretty sharp. Even the cable cam looks great. Why can't MNF look like this every game?

And the FOUL!

Was the "This game is presented in 3D by..." very loud for anyone else compared to the commercials and game audio?

I really like score box on ESPN 3D. Very small and framed for 16:9. Also no bottom scrolling bar.

PQ is good. ESPN seems to be able to really deliver a high quality feed for the National Championship, last year's looked fantastic too. One of the best looking Superdome games. Audio is fine, Brent seems a bit excited tonight.

Great picture quality like the Sugar Bowl. Flycam color saturation is improved. 4:3 ESPN logo in top left on some replays. Saw a video blinking flash and audio glitch.

Hopefully the refs don't rob anyone like the poor Hokie receiver.

The color on one of the cameras is way off. I don't think it is the sky cam.
Appears to be a handheld on the sideline.

Perhaps I misremembered.

has anybody noticed that the replay graphics look weird. The graphics look way to zoomed in as though I have the zoom factor on my media center setup zoomed all the way in.

I am getting a searching for satiellte error at worst time you could image
It's all of the ESPN feeds for me.

Called Directv, they are not aware of a problem in my area or nationwide yet.

I guess I will have to watch it in standard def

watching in 3d here. hard to comment on pq, other than it's frikken amazing to watch like this... aq is nothing to complain about.

one real nice thing about 3d broadcast is that it's uncluttered... one little score bug, and that's it... no constant graphics switching, etc. just the game... they need to learn to stay with one camera most of the time though... it's a little disorienting to switch perspective often...

fios, south jersey.

c'mon tide... it wouldn't kill you to score a td...

I thought maybe watching in 3D would work, since ESPNHD is down. Oh no, my ESPN 3D channel is searching for satellite as well. Way to go Directv and ESPN.

Didn't have this problem last year with Fox.

ESPN has done the National Championship for the last three years. Alabama/Texas aired on ABC.

Try restarting/rebooting your DVR.

BTW, they keep talking about Alabama's No.1 defense, but from what I'm seeing this LSU offense would have a lot of trouble against a Pop Warner team, utterly awful.

PQ wise overall a very good effort from ESPN, some swimming grass, but considering other game at the Superdome is good.

As for the game.....sorry SEC wonks but these are not the 2 best teams, two very good D's but offensively flawed. Okie St, Oregon, Stanford and possibly Wisconsin would beat both of these teams tonight.

I agree, I can't believe this LSU team has been ranked so high all season, that QB doesn't appear to have Clue 1 as to what he's doing out there. As a viewer with no particular favorite it's been a terrible game to watch.

Please....they would have to score to win. You are the only person in America that doesn't think the SEC is THE elite conference -this from me in New England.

Both LSU and Bama have been great on D...but Bama stopped themselves from poor execution on offense more than LSU defense has done.
LSU tonight couldn't score at a truck stop....heck the way LSU has played tonight Boise St would beat them.

You're making this way to easy. Let's see, LSU beat Oregon by 2 touchdowns -Oregon smoked both Stanford and Wisconsin. What am I missing? Those results pretty much prove who should beat who. BCS stinks but it's all there is.

The results of a game on Labor Day weekend are meaningless when talking about how a championship game will play out. Lines haven't had enough chance to work together. There's a reason most winning programs schedule 3 weeks of creampuffs to start the year. Put the Oregon-LSU game in late October or November and it might have gone a whole lot differently.

Right. And you could play Alabama and LSU tomorrow and it could turn out differently. So what's the difference -your point isn't valid because on Labor Day weekend both teams were equally "un-prepared". Correct?

By that logic, we shouldn't have played this game again since LSU won the first time.

I just wish for a playoff... Eight teams, or I could maybe settle for four... But at least something that is a little less arbitrary about which regular season games and which obviously do not.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!
