Well they added another show -- bikini barbershop: jersey.

5 chix in bikinis cut hair.

& they are in long branch nj....hey i know where that is.

They should do a crossover with the guidos from jersey shore.

That show is so bad it is painful to watch. There is nothing real about it. It's like the owner is reading off of cue-cards, and poorly at that. The girls call him names, and he yells at them. Even the nudity is creepy.

They must have needed filler material before they switch up their format this summer.

Is there a date for the re branding of the channel?
I've noticed on the promos for HDNet concerts it says AXS.TV on the bottom right.

which shows are they going to keep once the changeover happens?...I remember hearing that Dan Rather Reports and the MMA stuff was going to carry over but not sure...so all the late night adult programming are all going to disappear (Art Mann, Bikini Destinations etc)?

July 2nd is when HDNet becomes AXS.TV officially. Looking at the week of July 2nd it looks like the channel so far is pretty much running most of the same programming as before which includes the late night programming is nearly the same. The only thing I am not seeing is the Girls Gone Wild stuff. The only other thing I noticed is the weekday reruns of some shows such as Smallville and Cheers is now gone in favor of rerunning concerts. Hopefully that means I will finally be able to see that Jon Anderson one they have the rights on.

Oh and yes... Dan Rather Reports and the MMA programming is still around. I will repeat Dan Rather Reports is still on. You can breath easier now folks.

It does not sound like they got any of the cable systems they have lost over the past few years back.

Their main priority was carriage and while they got moved up a tier on Dish Network, it seems they have layed a goose egg so far.

It is going to take time before they get more carriers aboard. I say if the carriage is the same a year from now then this name change (along with programming focus shift) will be a fail. So lets give them time to get things going.

As long as they don't drop the travel shows on weekend mornings I'm fine with it. I'll be bummed if they drop Alps From Above, Rudy Maxa, Rick Steve, Baltic Coasts, etc. They already dropped my favorite, World's Coastlines From Above, but I've got them recorded on my DVR.

I really used to enjoy the early morning "Sunrise at" shows, and some "drive thru" shows..... They featured some fantastic videography.

Was watching this morning and they kept running a promo with Katie Daryl announcing that HDNet was now going to be AXS Tv. Acording to the promo they are promising a lot more" live " stuff, although they won't say what just that it's pop culture related.

They started making changes last week: they no longer show the unrated versions of Art Mann and the other shows during the late night hours and the GGW show was completely removed from the lineup. Seriously, what's the point of watching Art Mann censored?

I guess they are trying to be "respectable" now. I liked how diverse the channel used to be. Travel, news, music, late nite, etc. Unfortunately, it is becoming a PG-13 world, watering everything down for the biggest audience. frown.gif

Umm, what's the point of watching Art Mann uncensored?

Instead of being "respectable," they should try being entertaining, or watchable.

Some of the guides are wrong as TV Guide shows "Deadline!" TV14 as "Deadline! Unrated" is airing.

There's a new episode Thursday 7/5 at 10pm reairing at 1am both show TV 14 in the guides..

The episode airing at 7/1 4am is TV14.

Here in Chicago Area 2, Comcast put out a message to the cable boxes that HDNet had become AXS but is still labeling the channel "HDNET."  Maybe tomorrow …

As I mentioned in a previous post,
when it was announced that HDNet would become AXS.TV I connected the use of .TV with the .TV channels from Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios that Verizon FiOS carries.
The channels don't have much content.
Granted I might be one of the few that think about that as I don't believe any other TV provider carries those channels.

Channel changed from HDNet to AXS.TV overnight. The new watermark logo is awful. Its much larger then the HDNet logo and far more noticeable as its less transparent. Already not liking this.

The designation has changed here too, and as Demolition Man said the bug is larger.  I don't remember its having been more transparent in the HDNet days, to be honest, but I can't say it wasn't.

Just now there was a giant graphic on the bottom left saying "You are watching AXS.TV formerly HDNet."
They better not be putting this on the screen multiple times per hour.

The AXS.TV bug is bigger but darker and more transparent.

They want people who did not know the channel was changing its name to know it's now AXS.TV and it was HDNet.
There are many better ways to do that then the giant graphic they are using.
Why not just put as small text "HDNet is now" above the AXS.TV logo?

I tried to use the DirecTV DVR to PC program to do direct screen captures but sadly couldn't figure out why it didn't work... so I did the next best thing which is taking pics from my HDTV itself. I apologize if the images aren't perfectly aligned but the focal point which is the watermark logo is what is important.

HDNet Logo as of July 1st 2012 11 PM CST (taken from DVR recording of Sting Live In Berlin)
hdnet.jpg

AXS.TV Logo as of July 2nd 2012 5 PM CST (taken from live airing of JAG)
axstv.jpg

To be honest now that I've compared the new AXS.TV logo is transparent but much larger compared to the HDNet logo. I do wish the AXS.TV logo was smaller - maybe the size of the HDNet one - but keep the transparency since honestly I like that look a bit more over the pure white HDNet logo.

Isnt that the just the website name like weather.com

Also from that site:
What are you announcing today?
HDNet, AEG, Ryan Seacrest Media (RSM), and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) formed a joint venture that will rebrand HDNet/HDNet Canada to launch AXS TV (pronounced: access).

Who will run/manage AXS TV?
Mark Cuban will continue to lead the channel on behalf of the venture and Philip Garvin will continue as General Manager of the network operations based in Denver, CO.

What kind of programming will AXS TV offer?
Scheduled to debut this summer, AXS TV will leverage the global reach and portfolio of content opportunities of its partners to create live entertainment and lifestyle programming

Im pretty sure there isnt a dot in any of those axs tv mentions. biggrin.gif

+ the thread title doesnt have the dot either.

It's AXS TV, if you want to look it up on the net it's AXS.TV, it's that simple..... HDNet was HDNet, to access it (pun intended) on the internet it was HD.net.... wink.gif

The HDNet logo was translucent, and I agree that the transparency is better on AXS TV's logo, but it's far too large.
