I'd have to go back and check my copy, but didn't the phone have a headphone cable plugged into it, so that the audio from the phone could be used to trigger the bomb? If so, there was no way the kid was going to talk to the caller. Plus, all the kid had to do was unplug the headphone cable and the bomb was disabled. There are no electronic switch contacts available on a phone. No headphone connection, no boom!

Ya, big plot hole with that scene.

He pulled the battery from the phone to disable the bomb.

That whole segment was just wrong though.

For those who are interested, FOX decided to air this show on Thursday nights instead of Monday to avoid competing with 'The Voice'. The next episode will air on March 22.

TV listings are showing the repeat of the pilot at 60 minutes, not the extended version. Hope the listings are wrong, because I missed the end of the first showing due to the listings being wrong then, too.

Will program my recorder for extra time just in case this time.

That may be, but the FoxFlash (Fox official press website) had the correct info for the first time around. Can't help it if whatever service Comcast uses can't get it right.

The schedule listing on FoxFlash only has it for an hour. Most special airings that are longer than normal usually never get a replay at the longer length.

So what do they do then, just cut the show off while it's still going? Looks like the running time of the pilot is 51 minutes. Wonder if since it's a repeat and wouldn't command the higher advertising dollars, that they might possibly cut the commercial time down a bit to fit it in the hour slot? I ended up just watching the end off the FOX website after it first aired, since I do have comcast and didn't get it on the DVR.

What is much more likely is that they would edit the show's content down to fit what they would normally show, NOT cut the commercial time.

^^^ Correct. About 7-8 minutes will be removed from the repeat.

Yeah, I guess in this day and age it would be too much for them to cut any advertising even from the repeat. But it seemed like there were quite a lot of things going on with the multiple, connected, story lines in the pilot. Wonder what they might edit out then?

I enjoyed the 1st episode. The kid with the bomb part was pretty lame for reasons mentioned already....and no doubt he's going to get killed for not completing his mission.

The 2nd episode didn't do much for me. The social worker really wanted to take the kid back even after she saw what played out the day before? And then lets the kid get away a few hours later? Jack needs to set here straight.
Plus it's a little too sappy in the melodrama department.

But I'll stick with it for a while because I like the premise and I like Sutherland. And it's cool to see how the stories interact.

I actually got bored with last nights episode. It came together in the end, but still, yawn, for me not a good sign.

It came close to getting old during the second episode for me. I want to like it however if the same routine plays out every week I'll be gone... not sure how but move the storyline. With virtually no supporting cast and the star not talking... there isn't much to get invested in.

It would be cool if maybe some of these small stories come together in a large scale later on. Instead of them all being just stories of the week.
I really do like shows and movies with coincidences and chance encounters.

I usually give each new show 2 episodes before I make my decision on whether to continue or not. After last night, I think I'm done.

I'm sorry, but the whole concept is preposterous to me that one action could be seen through some numbers and that would start a chain of events that would lead everyone to one spot days later. Seriously, the guy's hospital room number, the number on the bat, and his phone number all happen to contain the same 4 numbers? Give me a break! That and it's just going to be the same thing every week.

Nah, for as much as I like Kiefer, this show isn't cutting it.

"Meh" from me too on episode 2. The episode's production seemed stiff. I think Kring is too much an old school TV showrunner. We need more innovative and better storytelling.

I share some of the same concerns mentioned in previous posts. It's hard to really care about all the characters involved in each episode with such minimal character development. Add to this the constant "suspension of disbelief."

To put my concern for this show more bluntly...I don't believe Chloe could rescue Jack this time!

Little "24" cast member reunion there... and walking into Yankee stadium undisturbed that time? I thought the guards were going to tackle him as he was spreading the ashes on the field..

THE END...for me, and, I take it, for most everyone else. I don't think I could stand listening to Keifer's perpetual gasping for breath (even when he's not running or exerting any energy) or watching characters you never become attached to as they become attracted to one another through far-fetched numbers that defy rational thinking.
