WNBC-DT NYC OTA @ FiOS.

PQ is not good.
The turf is full of motion artifacts on field and ground cams.
One of the closeup field cams on the left side has a pixel out.
I'm very surprised it looks almost as bad as the WCBS NFL broadcasts.
NBC is still has the annoying and not needed black bar behind the score box.
The bar is off for college basketball on NBC Sports Network which has the same placement of the score bar.
I hope they turn it off for the superbowl.

Audio question:
Everyone getting 5.1?

WDIV NBC Detroit is only delivering 2.0.

I'm getting 2.0 encoded as DD. Super annoying because I can't turn on DPL mode and get anything out of the center channel.

Thx. It may be a network issue, unless someone is getting 5.1, somewhere.

It's in 2.0 here in the Chicago area too[ on WMAQ via Uverse].

If a movie or concert video or a TV show isn't on blu ray it darn well should be.

I'm getting DD 5.1 on KNBC OTA, but the audio is definitely 2.0. Center channel and rear surrounds are silent.

As for the video, I'd say it's not quite up to NBC's usual (very high) standards but still looks good.
It's certainly the best-looking video I've ever seen originating from Aloha Stadium...this is what, the 2nd time this game has been in HD?

Doug Flutie is a great addition to the booth too (although I'm slightly biased as a Chargers fan). This is the only broadcast of the year where it's actually a good thing to have someone in the booth with stories to tell.

Right, it's flagged as 5.1 but only main l/r have audio.

Thanks for all the replies.

That color matrix video screen on the front of the desk they are using inside the stadium in Indy looks very low quality.

This "game" was an absolute disgrace. And I'm not talking about the pq.

Perhaps I misremembered.

We only watched about 5 minutes of the "game". After reading the "rules" and seeing the receivers fall gently to the ground after making a catch we were reaching for the remote . . .

A week or so ago in one of the threads here people were complaining about the "old dinosaurs" enlisted by the NFL for the Superbowl halftime. Well, I don't know what that was just before the game yesterday, but I don't think they can play their instruments. And the lyrics were something a third grader would be proud of.. say anything, as long as it rhymes. If it wasn't for the cheerleaders on the stage, we would have flipped channels right then... Gimme the dinosaurs anyday!

Don't ever make the MISTAKE of buying a Samsung TV..
They consider THIS
normal on a two month old set..

It's supposed to be fun. It wasn't a competitive football game. I enjoyed watching it, though seeing Drew and Aaron on the sidelines while Cam tanked for an entire half was a little painful.

I think the players got the message: "Ramp it Up! Play some football" when the crowd starting booing - in the first quarter!

NFC needed another QB because Cam was clearly off his game. Maybe intimidated (just a bit?) by all the stars around him. (Hey there's a first time for everything).

Nice to see officials swallow their whistles and keep the flags in their pockets. They let the players play and have some fun (and get away with breaking a few rules too). You wanted scoring, you got plenty - 100 total points (Pro Bowl record). Would have been 101 but Drew Brees muffed his PAT drop kick (that he worked on with former Charger QB teammate Doug Flutie who was one of the announcers).

There were two flags thrown - one for DI, declined because a TD was scored and one for a 'horse collar' tackle in the 4th quarter that was waved off.

On a (for me) local note, the Chargers players were clearly a big part of the game - Rivers throwing TD passes to Gates and Marshall, Eric Weddle with 2 picks, Ryan Mathews with some good ground yardage.

Just curious about one thing. The Giants and Patriots players selected for the game (but not there obviously because they're prepping for the Super Bowl) - do they also get a game check? (Patriots players would each get winning amount $50K, Giants players would get $25K).

Didn't Mayock call the Senior Bowl in Mobile Alabama on Saturday, and then make the Pro Bowl in Honolulu on Sunday??? How about Steeler Antonio Brown, returning Kicks, Punts, played WR, and played press coverage at the corner, [which according to Mayock isn't allowed], and got torched by Fitz for a TD... Cam looked hung-over, and out of it...PQ on Knbc by Cox Cable was pretty good

TWC in Troy, NY

That was easily the worst PQ I've seen on any game on any network this season. I was chatting on line with a friend in Palm Harbor, FL who watching on FiOS. He confirmed everything I was seeing.

I only hope that the Super Bowl PQ is not as god awful as the Pro Bore was.

Woulda been 150 if they took Cam out and put Drew back in

I doubt it. They no doubt get a much larger check for playing in the Super Bowl.

Yep they dont get penalized for going to the super bowl so they still get their pro bowl checks too.
