It will be interesting to see how this season fares without Iannucci. I'm guessing it will do well given the people behind it.

I forgot who it was, but I heard someone on TV say that Veep is the funniest American comedy for those who can actually string a complete sentence together. I thought that was a good Veep-caliber joke.

Veep is the perfect entertainment for those of us who are (1) politics junkies and (2) cynics. I suspect that the show has collected more than its share of fans from inside the Beltway.

Extra fantastic!

Foul sexual words within the first 10 seconds of the show

Even some Trump / Cruz insults

I wonder if Amy knew who she was texting? She must have been drunk/horny!

Good episode.

Anybody else her Selina say CVS but Dan interrupted it as CBS? Late night snack vs. Late night talkshow.

That was "just" OK. The episode didn't have substantial. I've seen better

I thought this week's episode was hilarious. The writing, acting, and directing were all top notch.

Or, maybe I was just in a good mood when I watched the latest Silicon Valley and Veep this afternoon. I thought they were both the best episodes of their respective current seasons.

The lines are great. Serena tells her guys to answer their phones, it sound like they stole a bunch of vibrators.

Then she pulls the plug on mother because of the death bump.

Then she's crying at the memorial because she lost Nevada and has to go to Congress to decide the election.

Veep has me laughing out loud several times in every episode. Your references to Serena's decision to pull the plug on her comatose mother because of the "death bump" and the stuff that came afterward were great examples of why that is. The show's writers are, if such a thing is possible, even more cynical about politicians than I am. I look at this stuff and wonder how it is that the Republic has survived for well over two Centuries.

One of my favorite Veep episodes of the entire series. Selena preparing to use her mother's death for political advantage then sobbing through the eulogy after receiving bad election news was inspired.

I'm not the type guy who kept track of Jack Bauer's kills, but I think Sunday's episode sent the profanity meter off the scale. And it was fabulous.

I haven't watched this week's episode yet, but last week's was hilarious.

These days Veep is the most profane, cynical, and just plain funny show there is. I am still laughing about the "death bump" episode.

**not reading**

Fell asleep during last week's episode

Still need to watch the ending. It wasn't being I found it boring, it was just because I was tired.

The amount of humor on one or two Veep episodes could fill an entire season on some 13 episode cable shows. Often I'm still laughing when a new ripper is delivered. It never ends.

The Finnish prime minister Minna, whom Selena referred to as Nordic beave, is played by an English actress, so the accent is suppose to be comic, as is the blunt things she says to Selena.

I wonder if this show has peaked, regarding audience enthusiasm. This thread is pretty moribund, and I haven't been as excited about it this season. Maybe we're all so horrified by real-world politics over the past year, that this show now seems too real.

The season finale was pretty good, but not great.

The best part of the show are the one-liners.

So on other forums, they just have threads with a collection of lines from the dialog.

Turns out Selena won Nevada because they found the lost ballots, but the other woman has been sworn in already.

I guess they couldn't have Selena be the permanent POTUS or else the show wouldn't be Veep. They've had 5 brilliant seasons and the creator has moved on.

Maybe JLD gets tired of the role and the show ends. For now, she seemed to be enjoying doing the show.

So what could they do next season, fast forward a couple of years and she's mounting a campaign to run again? Without a regular role in govt., she couldn't keep all the staff together and it's the ensemble cast that makes the show work.

I, on the other hand, thought it was even better and zanier this season. Even elevated raunchiness which wasn't much of a stretch.
