In the Green Arrow comic universe were there so many good or villain archers in the stories? Sometimes I feel that I am watching a modern day Robin Hood adventure.

I think so too but it seems like when they have at least skimmed the surface of the point, Ollie's response is just "I'm not that way any more". Okay, but even so! Cut some slack since you've been there yourself!

To me the Hong Kong flashbacks appear to be setting up something: Tatsu wants Oliver gone before something bad happens. If she is who I think she is (or going to be), then the bad will most definitely happen. Will Oliver be to blame or Waller?

I watched the Arrow After Show on Youtube out of curiosity this week because Amell was a guest and he answers some questions that have been brought up here. Out of the gate he was asked "I hate Laurel, why shouldn't I?" which was ballsy! Amell offers a diplomatic response and handles it well. Also, Queen is only broke by billionaire standards. He still has a significant amount of bank for toys.

One of the most interesting little remarks that Amell makes is that besides the arrowhead changing each season maybe the title will. Besides inevitably promoting the character will they change the show title to Green Arrow?

Hmmmm. Captain Boomerang on Arrow. I was expecting him to show up on The Flash. Perhaps for the crossover?

I'm actually surprised I enjoyed this episode as much as I did. Not much in the way of usual action but there were plenty of good character scenes for Team Arrow. Even Cupid wasn't as annoying as she could have been. Mostly just serving as a catalyst for some character soul searching and reasons to be in therapy. I caught her secret appearances last week which they acknowledged in this episode, but I would be really impressed if the producers had woven her into the Deathstroke finale last season. I can't remember if that scene actually took place. Also interesting to note that it seems Harley Quinn escaped from ARGUS.

Poor Brandon Routh. He seems to be becoming cast in shows just to annoy shippers. First he was annoying the Sarah and Chuck shippers and now I imagine the Olicity fans were crying and squeaking this week. So he gets a thumbs up from me! I am actually enjoying him on Arrow more than anything else he's done recently. The exosuit appearance was pretty slick too.

Unfortunately Roy seems to have gone back to his now usual role of being in an episode just to fall over. And he didn't even manage a flip this week. He just fell over off-camera.

And Thea gets her DJ boyfriend. Daddy will not be impressed. I hope Merlyn is sharpening some black arrows because that guy cannot get scared off or killed fast enough.

That's a definite possibility. The show is off next week and when it returns it will be for the crossover on Dec 2/3.

Either that or she is dead and I can't see that happening.

Waller made the remark that Cupid was more crazy than the last woman they had in the Suicide Squad. The last woman in the squad was Harley based on what we've seen.

I *think* Flash is new this week but Arrow is not on, so that will re-align the two shows when Flash was off for election night but Arrow was new that week...

Correct. The next pair of crossover episodes is next Tuesday and Wednesday, so Flash is probably going to set up that event this week.

I keep trying to watch and like this show, but it's too gloomy and broody. I find myself checking my tablet or doing something else until the music changes or there's shouting or fighting.

That's part of the show's DNA, like 'Gotham' or 'SHIELD'. But rejoice! There is a more light-hearted superhero show for you. Try 'The Flash'.

I do like The Flash better and I don't mind broody but noone seems to have any fun in Arrow and they all have to speak in hushed tones.

I think it's the main story and leads that produce the overall feel. Arrow and Oliver Queen are dark and gloomy but Jim Gordon is not that dark, he's just straight-arrow determined to change things. A bulldozer if you like. Also Gordon's obstacles are the traditional over-the-top villains who have the usual aims, money and power. And in Gotham at times there is humor, dark and light. I don't recall if I've ever laughed or smiled while watching Arrow.

Queens enemies come from everywhere, at any time for any reason. I expect they'll be emerging from the cracks in the sidewalk before long. Probably armed with a bow and arrow, although I'd prefer a gun occasionally.

C'mon, some of Felicity's lines were funny. Anyway, I much prefer ARROW over FLASH, just as I like Batman more than Spider-Man. I appreciate the more mature storylines (such as they are), while Flash's "team" comes off as a couple of annoying kiddies who can't to get a PS5! But then, both shows are true to the "vibe" of their source material. Flash was always lighter and goofier so I don't have a problem with the show being that way.
I enjoy THE FLASH but I look forward to ARROW. The stakes seem higher and I don't need constant comic relief with my drama.

It's just really annoying how it's keeps drowning the characters in angst.

Interesting, but my reply was comparing and contrasting Arrow to Gotham, not The Flash.

The Flash is a great show, if I was ten years old.

The Arrow is so inconsistent these days, I am not sure I even care anymore. They dangled the possibility of Oliver and Thea living together with their lies and secrets and with Merlin possibly going nuts over that arraignment but alas nothing came out of that story line. In the last episode there was a possibility that the crazy red head was at the club to start trouble and only had her ass kicked by Thea. But no nothing came out of that either.

Thankfully there are more than enough journalists, critics and people in general who are apparently ten years old who can recognize it's merits.

I agree it has a young vibe. When I watch it it comes across as almost uncomfortable... Currently it resides at the bottom of my recordings and I'm not sure how much longer it will stay in the lineup as they pile up. It's not just an age thing rather it feels like one of those endless contestants doing karaoke (on one of those reality singing competitions).

"That guy's a douche."

Yes he is.

This one I enjoyed more than part one on The Flash. And I enjoyed that one a lot.

Having Team Flash in town meant there was only time for the best characters of each show and some good one liners. Diggle got plot development and even Roy was better than usual. But he still had time to fall down. Ollie stole his move though.

Excellent crossover event overall which I hope they don't repeat soon or the novelty will be less special.

The show was very direct about the different vibe in each show sort of confronting each other about how grim and dark Arrow is and how light and amusing Flash is (along with their people). I think they decided to each go to the middle a bit. I enjoyed it.

Jerry. Just remember. Its not a lie . . . if you believe it. GC

On The CW, Arrow (which was part of a two night crossover with The Flash) earned a series high 1.4, way up from its last original's 0.9 adults 18-49
rating.

Yet.

These threads aren't dead. Just look at baby momma who appeared in Flash. Just like in a comic book, some things in a panel may resurface in a later book. So it is with the show.
