I got a laugh when Rafe said to Datak "I borrowed your slippers, hope you don't mind".

Another solid episode with lots going on...
The ArkFall event was cool...
Now we have earthers putting on white makeup and wigs and posing as Casti's at underground clubs!
Tommy sees Irisa "infecting" someone... and keeps quiet.

Nolan takes (BarbieDoll) Berlin! He's getting to be a regular James T. Kirk. We're going to have to start a running list of his conquests..

Season two is rocking so far!

... Or was the Club just "for" Humans, with most/all of them in white "drag" except for a Casti "manager" or 2 ... ?

When that vessel crashed it didn't look that big compared to its' surroundings. Then those large animals appeared making the ship seem even smaller than thought. After seeing the walk through the ships interior you realize that it's beyond huge, and makes those large animals humongous.

This wouldn't be the first optical perspective issue.

Heads up D* folks!

Check your series manager now. There's a fair chance that your DVR will barf this week. (7/31/14)

For what it's worth, my Dish DVR timer seems to be fine for this week. I'm a bunch of episodes behind in watching, though, so I'll keep an eye out in case whatever the issue is with DirecTV causes me any problems with Dish.

Seeing William Atherton in Castithan "white face" was creepy enough. But when he broke into song, that was one of the most cringe worthy scenes ever aired. I'm gonna have nightmares.

He's just creepy, no matter Human or Casti. Has he ever played a good guy in anything?

Yep! I set it to record once. Noticed in the Guide that it did not indicate that the show was in HD on the HD channel. Wonder if that had anything as to why the series manager did not set it to record.

I'm tired of the depiction of strange nightclubs, transvestite aliens/humans, and drug use. I would gladly go for more nudity, however. But what I really want is more SF elements, more character development, a more pronounced story arc, etc.

In brief, better writing. This season is turning into a train wreck.

Probably so, in this case. After I forced the episode to record, I noticed that the DVR had scheduled the repeats of both "Defiance" and "Dominion" which were properly tagged as "HD."

Double episode last night... only watched the first one so far.
Seems like Nolan's fed up with his girl's antics, but he has no clue how bad it's gotten!
I thought Pottinger was going to confess something huge to Amanda when he though they were both going to die down there in the mine...

Season finale next week and it is also a double episode, or a long one, whichever, two hours next week also.

Sickbeard shows it as two episodes (for next Thurs)...
212 All Things Must Pass
213 I Almost Prayed

Anyone know if it's been renewed?

Usually double episodes indicate "burn-off theater".

Could just be trying to get out of the way of football. and Dominion wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. This week's 2 hour ep is a bit different, but a two hour season finale isn't necessarily bad. Football is coming fast. I have no idea what kind of ratings the show has.

The ratings have been pretty steady at 1.5 million viewers each week.

That's respectable for a Syfy program, isn't it? Doesn't seem to matter that much, they dropped Warehouse 13 and it was one of their most popular shows and Eureka had decent ratings, yet they decided it was time, never really understood the thinking behind most of their decisions. Money and short sightedness is my guess. Sorry, I got off on a small rant there.

Shows get more expensive to produce as the actors demand more money per episode, so even successful shows become unsustainable from the networks' perspective eventually. When "success" means numbers as low as those on cable networks, shows rarely seem to run more than five seasons.

I loved Nolan's little rant at Sukar this week. "Remember that time I threw you off the arch? 'Tashinkaaaaa!!!' That was great." Yes, Nolan. It was.

Why are people calling Stahma "Favi Tarr" suddenly? Is that a title of some sort? I think both she and Christy have been called "Favi" lately, but I don't know what it means.

Holy sh!t moly, Sarah Connor!

Strange things are afoot at the town of Defiance.

I don't recall what happened to William Atherton. He was there and now he's not. Curse you Jack Daniels.
