I meant T'evgin. I'm terrible at remembering human names, let alone the purple people eaters.

I hope it doesn't drag into next season...it would be a real bummer.

I suspect that the most will happen is that Kindzi will be exposed to the other Omec as having killed T'evgin.

The bigger question is will

(a) Kindzi eat the baby in front of Stahma and Alak
(b) Kindzi hold the baby hostage and make Stahma and Alak her minions
(c) Datak arrives and somehow saves the day.

I vote for (a)

I also question T'evgin's death. Now that we've learned that the Omec leaders body has an armored like quality, how was Kindzi able to kill him so easily with a knife to the neck (or thereabouts)? She also had no trouble slicing the abdomen to get to his heart. The pat answer would probably be as his daughter she greater abilities than the other Omec's. Cop out!

Well, she had been continuously draining is blood to keep him weak. He obviously wasn't fully recovered when Kindzi killed him. Nolan only untied him a few minutes earlier.

Yeah, I don't think there's much mystery there, he was very weak already, he's dead and gone.

It probably won't happen. Omecs probably have some code about not eating children until they're old enough to be judged as not good breeding stock or not good slaves.

"Everyone says Hi."

Really?

Man, this thing is getting ragged around the edges.
The melodrama...sheesh.

Even without the idiotic song in the coda, it wasn't easy to swallow this episode.
The showrunners need to get their heads outta their behinds or this show will die sooner rather than later.

What's with the imitation 2001 filler at the ending? I guess the writers couldn't think of anything else.

Beginning my binge watch of Season 3 last night .. enjoying it so far ..

Regardless of how others viewers may feel, compare a show like "Falling Skies" and "Defiance" becomes the Gold Standard ..

Yeah, pretty dumb...I guess they had some extra dough left over in their CGI budget.

On this, we actually can agree .. after the FS series finale airs, I planned on posting a memorial wreath and tombstone on that thread "Gone and Quickly Forgotten" .. thus ending the insanity that is my sticking with it till the Bitter End ..

The only question I have is, and I ask this as a Sci Fi fan since the 1960's, TV, Books, etc .. what current Science Fiction show beats "Defiance" .. ?? A serious question since I'd like to watch that show(s) .. I heard "Killjoys" was pretty good, but I never set the DVR for it .. I always felt "Defiance" got SyFy network some of it's old mojo back ..

I started thinking about this, but I drew a blank.
Thought maybe it was just a lack of caffeine.

So, I went and checked my DVR Series Manager and...nuttin'.
There really isn't any PURE scifi I am currently following which is demonstrably "better."

Then I realized I haven't lately see a lot of good scifi movies either.
I dunno what to think now...

Well, I guess that's a wrap for 'Defiance', huh? Hadn't heard it had been cancelled but that's a series finale if I've ever seen one. If so, it was a nice way to go out. Everybody's story was pretty much resolved and it ended on a peaceful note.

If not, I guess next year they're back to battling the Votan Collective sans the show's lead actor.

Better sci-fi show than 'Defiance'? 'Continuum is coming back in a couple of weeks and that's been pretty solid over its run. And Rachel Nichols is really easy on the eyes. Six more eps and its out. Guess the Canadians lost interest.

Still waiting on the Next Great Sci-fi TV Show. Nothing has really stepped up and assumed BSG's mantle. Maybe 'The Expanse' in a few months -- suppose that's the Next Big Hope. Of course, that's what we thought about 'Ascension' last year and look how that turned out.

But if you're jonesing for a good sci-fi series, you can always try to find a DVD set of 'Charlie Jade'. So worth it.

Sending Nolan and Yewll across the galaxy pretty much sets next season up to be about dealing with whatever big bad aliens (worse than the Omec) follow them home. Perhaps we'll finally get the united VC/human effort we thought we would see against the Omec. Heck, maybe the Omec will join in the fight as well in gratitude for being escorted to a new home!

Overall a much better season than the first two in spite of a few lapses and dragging out the Omec situation over the last few episodes.

By the way, how does Kindzi not notice the pods going up to the ship until the very last one?

Hmm...let's see. My ranking (of shows I watch) would be

1) Continuum
2) Defiance
3) Star Wars Rebels
4) Humans
5) Dark Matter
6) Killjoys
7) The Strain

If you add all genre shows, then

1) The Flash
2) Continuum
3) The Walking Dead
4) Arrow- (despite a weak 3rd season)
5) Tie- Defiance & Star Wars Rebels
6) Humans
7) Dark Matter
8) Grimm
9) Killjoys
10) The Strain

Dazed and confused over high tech.

Sigh...Concrap. The Internet Overlord Cometh
They're not com-tastic!

It really did feel like that. Maybe O'Bannon was worried that it wouldn't get renewed, and after what happened with Farscape, decided to make sure it had some closure? Especially after Revolutions recent cancellation.

I would bet that Nolan will find his way back if the series is back. Maybe that huge interstellar Omec ship has a small ship that the Doc can get working? Plenty of ways they could figure out how to do it.

I thought of Continuum (and, yes, it is better), but with it being a cancelled 6 episode show I decided not to mention it.

Some of these shows are not strictly sci-fi (by my definition).
However, most are ones I like and watch.

Using your lists:
1) The Strain
2) Humans
3) Continuum
4) Grimm
5) Dark Matter
6) Defiance

Similar feeling... watching last night, this felt like it could be a series finale in a lot of ways IF it doesn't come back. I can't say Defiance is my favorite Sci-Fi ever... but I think it is pretty consistently solid stuff. When the show first started, and was promoted with all the video-game tie-ins I tried to avoid it... I DVRed it but wouldn't watch until it was almost the end of a season... but then I'd binge-watch and kick myself for not watching it week-to-week. This season I watched every week, still on DVR but later that same night... and I still say it has been consistent episode after episode. No show has all winners... but this show has a lot more ups than downs, and a lot of solid actors playing good characters.

I would be sad to see this one go if it doesn't come back.

Me do not have signature.

I'm in the camp of not minding if it goes away. I've enjoyed it. As HDMe2 said, it was solid and competently produced and acted. But it feels like the concept has been played out. Not sure I'm up for more of the same.

If it's gone, it went out with honor, as Datak would have appreciated. And it's always nice to see Julie Benz and the ever-luscious Jaime Murray, who occasionally got as close to nekkid as any cablenet actress I've seen. How I do love her lack of modesty.

And I never played the vid-game tie-in (or any vid games for that matter). That must not have worked out too well because they stopped promoting it a couple of seasons back.

If it turns out the show is cancelled this was a satisfying ending. The CGI work of the ship innards, especially the propulsion system, was top notch for television. If the show returns I'll be back for more fun. I have a few ideas where Nolan and the Doc could still be around, but that's for another day.
