Showtime in a way has adapted decently to the loss of movies to EPIX.
I noticed a lot of more curious lil movies that dont make it to the theaters or your neighborhood Bluray store(if any left). This is important as IFC has become crap and Sundance's programming has become drier and they still haven't moved to HD. Hopefully, they will keep adapting or they will start losing business. Showtime has a chance to become the premier indie pay channel, especially with Sundance no longer being part of their channel group. Dexter is on its last legs.
Having COMCRAP, I don't get EPIX. I subscribe to every other premium network but TMC.
HBO sucks for movies. Starz is like EPIX where they have a big selection of mainstream movies. Cinemax is down to ONE HD channel on COMCAST. Whatever movies show up on the main channel are either reruns of what is already on HBO or will be shown on HBO at a later date anyway. And whatever movies they may show on their many other channels do not interest me because of lack of HD. So it has become a useless channel. Their ON Demand library sucks too and is only noteworthy for their soft porn collection.
Showtime seems the best for cheap horror flicks. Some indies also crop up.
HBO Signature does show decent South American movies from time to time. I have probably watched more spanish movies than English movies on HBO.
