I am glad to have the show back, one thing the season at 10 shows is just to short. A big part of the appeal for me is the lack of Hi tech and the real modern western feel of it. 2 thumbs up.biggrin.gif

Me too. They had a marathon this past weekend and was good to see the last episode from last season, Forgot a lot.

The first episode was unremittingly grim. The trademark wry humor that Walt used to display is gone. I'm wondering if they are using a different writing crew this season.

Also, his dialogue was really muddled. I ended up turning on the subtitles just so I could follow what was being said.

For those of you who are fans of the Craig Johnson novels, Longmire #10, titled By Any Other Name, was published May 13, 2014.

I wonder if they're going to abandon the usual murder of the week formula and go much more long arc this year. Certainly looked like it from the previews.

The murder of his wife has been long arc since the end episodes of season one.

So is(was) Branch really seeing things, or is Bridges(?) still alive?

I should have watched the last episode from last season, is Bridges the person who shot at(or caused the accident) the Sheriff's daughter almost killing her?

I'm having trouble recalling the flow also. I think Bridges is the guy the Casino owner conspired with to run Longmire's daughter off the road to interfere with the election hoping to get Branch elected. Bridges was then found by Longmire and Branch in his house with a gunshot wound to the head, if I remember correctly. I saved the last episode only to move and lose all my saved Directtv stuff.

Right, that's what I recall as well. But wasn't Bridges body in such bad shape that ID was near impossible?

No, Knighthorse found the body and burned it. He was the only one (that we know of) that saw Bridges after he shot himself.

The running theory is Bridges sabotaged the car and was working with Knighthorse.

Okay, thanks. So I'm going with Branch is not seeing things, Bridges is still alive, or was long enough to shoot Branch. The DNA is the sticky part, not sure how that could work, unless names were switched on the samples.

Intense episode last night. Peter Stormare, as usual, was pitch perfect as a Posse Comitatus nut job.

I'm perturbed. My recording cut out on D* before it ended. I got to the point where Vic and her hubby got dropped off at Walt's truck, and then....

I'll assume Walt lived, and I've recorded a repeat to catch the finish.

"Intense" is a great use of the word for this episode, Garrett.

I watched the end on A&E's website. DirecTV only cut off a few seconds before the credits rolled. Vic finishes turning the truck around and starts to head back to the compound. That's it.

This episode was the most intense in the series thus far. I thought maybe the ending might have come down to a "Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" scenario. Maybe we'll find out next week.

That had to be the most contrived, ridiculous episode so far. Way too many 'coincidences' to even be remotely plausible, and the sovereign nut jobbers were WAY over the top (as in jumping the shark crazy). Was really disappointed in it but wife didn't mind.

Am also getting tired (quickly) of the Branch is losing it story line, but looks like we're going to get even more of it next week judging from the preview.

For one thing, it's just a TV show approximately 44 minutes long. There are bound to be "coincidences." I could mention some amazing coincidences during my life, but that would probably be boring as well as taking more than the time allotted for a one-hour show. As for the "nut jobbers," I'm guessing the folks at Ruby Ridge or the Branch Davidians at Waco weren't exactly sane.

I do agree about the other "Branch," however. That storyline is getting tedious.
