Back in 2012 I watched the pilot episode of Longmire, liked it, and posted about it here. For some reason, though, I quit on the show shortly thereafter. Because of complementary recent posts about the show in another thread, I decided to give it another go. I am halfway through Episode 3 of Season 1 and have been enjoying the show. It has a few police procedural cliches in every episode but I suppose that's inevitable. Mostly the show has been good. Robert Taylor is a charismatic dude and I have always liked Katee Sackoff.

Stick with it, the show has gotten a lot better now that it's on Netflix. This season was one of the best IMO.

As noted earlier, I can't recall why I dropped Longmire in the first place. I have now seen the first 4 episodes of the series on Netflix and am looking forward to seeing the rest.

The renewal of Bosch really is great news. I have long been a fan of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books. It's no wonder it took so long for somebody to finally take a shot at translating Connelly's Bosch books to film. I think Netflix has done a great job. Casting Titus Welliver in the title role was inspired. Harry is a depressive grouch. In fact about his only saving graces are that he is a great cop and truly loves his daughter. I can't think of another actor who could have made the character as appealing as Welliver has.

I haven't read the Walt Longmire novels or seen enough episodes of Longmire the TV show to have developed a feel for the overall series yet. I will say that through the 7 episodes I have seen, the show gets better and better. The presence of the wonderful Gerald McRaney is enough to keep me onboard.

Yeah, the conventional wisdom seems to be that Longmire gets better and better throughout its run. Anyway, I am onboard for the duration.

Finally finished watching the whole series and I loved every minute of it. Longmire is brilliantly written and has an impressive ensemble cast. I am really looking forward to seeing Season 5!

I particularly enjoyed seeing Mathias and Nighthorse becoming three dimensional characters rather than continuing to portray them as heavies. Somehow, though, I think that Walker Browning is going to remain an unleavened bad guy.

Branch's death and Barlow's end were preposterous, even by television standards, but the whole thing was so tense and exciting, I cranked up my willingness to suspend disbelief one more notch and just enjoyed the drama.

Right. The episodes averaged about an hour each, which gave the writer(s) more time to flesh things out. Also Mathias, a relative good guy, whoda thunk.

My wife and I (mostly my wife since she watches when i'm not home and I don't always watch past episodes to catch up) have found this on Netflix and started binge watching it. We just finished Season 3 and wow, I did not see Branch getting shot by his dad happening... Good show though.
