Stroh doesn't need to eliminate Rusty's testimony anymore as there is sufficient evidence to put him away for the killing of his judge friend. I still do not understand why he had to be alone with the judge to sign the agreemet. There were no confidential client privilidges involved. Just him agreeing to his end of the bargain made. There should have been other officers in the room but that is now history. He most certainly will show up in a future episode.

I've always felt that Rusty was a vehicle to show the Captain's softer side. Sharon Raydor in The Closer was not painted in the best light. She seemed a bit more antagonistic and smarmy than the usual Internal Affairs officer. But now we get it, she's a great person and leader. Adios, Rusty!

Agree... it was a way to humanize Raydor... she was often the bad guy before she became a regular and started to work better with the group... then making her the replacement for Brenda Lee they had to give the people in the squad a glimpse of her being different or it would have been a repeat of Season 1 of the Closer where everyone was out to get Brenda Lee until they realized they liked her.

I give them credit for going a different way with Raydor... and I don't mind Rusty the character, but he is in the show a LOT for someone who often isn't really part of the plot. He's in it more than people in the squad room who ought to be working on the case... like Tau... where was he compared to Rusty's scenes?

Why, yes! You took the opportunity to make a sly comment on the misspelling of "hansom" by misspelling "reins."

That was very clever.

Wait...

The "reigns" misspelling was intentional... but the "handsome" cab was not. Oops!

Yes they really blew a golden opportunity when they gave all of Brenda's, Pope's and Gabriel's screen time to Raydor and Rusty instead of expanding the roles of Provenza, Flynn, Tao and Sanchez. Taylor also gets short shrift, and they bring in Sykes for no apparent reason. The only one to come out ahead is Buzz, and Tao could be doing most of what he does...

CC

Who knew "flammable" and "inflammable" mean the same thing???
