Seth Green and Matt Senreich, the creators of Robot Chicken, have just given the world a sneak peak at their new animated comedy series, Star Wars Detours

Quote:
The series takes place between between Episode III and IV, and of course, Green, Senreich and Grimes have taken comedic liberty with the entire Star Wars universe, with George Lucas' blessing of course.

"Lucas was sitting at a desk and said, ‘You guys think you're pretty ****ing funny, don't you?'" Green remembers. "'So, how about we do something funny together?'"

As of right now, there are no details on premiere dates or even a home network for the show.

Given the lighthearted interpretation of many well-established and coveted characters, the series is sure to elicit some strong and polarized reactions from fans. Check out the trailer:

What do you think? Choose one of the following:

A) This Is Brilliant!

B) This is a Travesty!

C) Who Cares?

There was nothing funny in that video but it looks great for little kids.

I don't think this is the star wars series I have been looking for.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

I showed my kids the clip and they thought it was funny, so it may be something I watch with them.
So a mix between 1 and 3 for me.

I liked those pretty well. This trailer doesn't seem to compare.

I'll be the first to criticize Lucas for many things, the new trilogy sucked, Han shot first dammit, he ruined the new Indiana Jones, etc. But, the way I see it, the Robot Chicken guys wanted to do a Star Wars spoof. Lucas gave it the OK. If he'd said no, we might be discussing how big of a **** he is right now for refusing. If the show isn't for you, don't watch.

This show looks pretty harmless to me.

Just reminds me of the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials, which were hilarious. Just substitute the animated action figures for computer ani and you got this. I'm in.

Robot Chicken is hit & miss, I expect this show will be the same.

The chasm swing sequence made me laugh...

As a DIE HARD fan of Star Wars, I am both nervous and looking forward to it. Got to see it at Celebration 6 this past weekend and the crowed seems mix with the kids giving it the biggest cheers.

May the Force be with you.

B) This is a Travesty!

I'm a die hard fan of Star Wars for over 30 years and this is annoying crap. This show looks like it was made for retarded kids between the ages of 2 and 5.

I chuckled a little. The humor at the very end ("I thought you were disagreeing.") is more my style than the outlandish stuff. :-)
