I hope not, I like her too.

About the episode, I thought for a second Watson's ex was going to be involved in the case, maybe being the cleaner's associate or something, but the story went elsewhere.. maybe just coincidence that he appeared when they were investigating that case.

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

wondering if they would have broadcast last week's episode-- had it been scheduled later than it was.

Quit failing to flip the switch

Surprised to note the lack of activity on this thread.
I enjoy this show, as it is a favorite.
Looking forward to my next visit to zoo, to check out the Zeb Ra's.

I just wanna see Watson and Holmes get it on and get all the drama over with, maybe like we saw last week, part of a menage a trois.....with the other Holmes perhaps.

If that happens maybe there could be a Holmes-Watson baby. That would make things interesting. I would love to see Sherlock changing diapers and figuring out how to take care of a crying baby.

My favorite part about Elementary is the lack of Leading Male and Leading Female love drama.

Well, season three certainly improved as it went along. The season finale was one of the better episodes IMHO. Unfortunately, the writers went and mucked it all up with the closing 45 seconds or so of the episode. They really missed the boat on an opportunity to open up the show and especially Holmes' character to a wide world of new developments and shoe-horned him and the show right back into a tiny little box.

By no means am I even close to ready to stop watching, but I will be waiting quite impatiently for the writers to move on from tired, cliched stories that have been done to death the last decade.

Lol. I don't know. It ruined Moonlighting. I like that they are trying to stay professional and Holmes is maddeningly obsessed.

So what happened to Holmes. I see 3 scenarios:

1.) He killed Oscar when he was beating the ^%$ out him at the end....
2.) He had a relapse and shot heroin...
3.) Alfredo did not make it and he is blaming himself...

We id enjoy this season and thought it got better as it progress. This is another one I am looking for next season..

Cheers!

My thoughts:
  1. He would not care in the least.
  2. Yep
  3. While it would hurt him badly, I think Alfredo is just fine.
FWIT, I never doubted for a second that he used.

Yeah, he used, but I couldn't for the life of me imagine, how he would at that moment, under those circumstances. He'd just undergone an ordeal of revisiting the underside of his addiction...the total despicableness of the life and what it does to people. I can't see Sherlock breaking down right there...in more pleasant circumstances maybe, but his pride and disgust wouldn't let him...there.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

The whole drug angle in this series is pretty amateurish IMHO.

If I remember correctly, he walks into the tunnel, but is not shown taking drugs. I don't think anything was clearly said by him or Watson about it. maybe I forgot. Could this just be to mislead viewers before the new season.

He wanted to shut off his feelings. It's what addicts do.

A quick shot in the arm, and the pain goes away........

I was going to as about that - seeing a bunch of derelicts who haven't bathed in weeks passed out in their own filfth - is that really a "trigger"? Seems to me it would have the opposite effect...

My point is more an overall one, the whole 12 step thing, the counselor/companion thing, the depiction of users, the treatment of the subject in general. A very weak part of the show IMHO.

I guess they couldn't handle the original use of Sherlock's use of cocaine as being generally positive. Can't have that. Just say no!

Watson saying that it had been only 3 days, and she didn't know how his father found out, and that he was arriving tomorrow, and the general state that he was in:

Elementary, he was using again!

Unfortunately in this version his addiction is the only reason for Watson's existence, so it's given a lot more emphasis than it deserves...

I assume Sherlock's drug addiction will be covered for a couple of episodes and quickly put back on the shelf. Season three's writing did get stronger in its second half. Moving Watson back into Sherlock's place was the correct call. No one watching really cares much about Joan's life beyond her involvement with Sherlock. If the cases were superstrong each week, it wouldn't bother me if Sherlock and her remain platonic. I don't mind them getting together, mostly because it relieves the pressure for them to come up with another character to fill Joan's romantic life.
