Executive-produced by Don Mischer, "The 64th Primetime Emmy; Awards" will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, star and executive producer of the late-night ABC talk show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live." It will be broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound, and carries a TV-14,D,L,V parental guideline.

WABC-DT NYC FiOS TV

I'm liking the format and the taped segments.

The abc bug is removed during the montage segments and is on for all other segments.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus gave an awkward acceptance speech pretending to have her notes mixed up with Amy Poehler.
She went very long and when leaving the stage went the wrong way, someone dropped something and they walked away in the dark.
It was all very goofy.

The only other goof so far was when presenter Seth MacFarlane walked to to the center of the stage where there was no mic.
They put the mic up and but then he was told to move to the right where he was supposed to stand.

Congratulations to "The Amazing Race" on collecting their gazillionth award. While there's not doubt they're well earned I think it's also fair to say Academy voters are quite aware that in a genre that has caused writers and performers a bunch of lost employment, TAR does keep a lot of production folks all over the world working. Good on them.

What ABC bug? biggrin.gif

John Stewart forced the audio censor button pusher to do his job when he swore using the f**k word. Don't know if the "son-of-a-bitch" made it through or not.

I have the uncensored version biggrin.gif

"What do you say Beckett. Wanna have a baby?" - Castle to Det. Beckett
"How Long have I been gone?" Alexis after arriving home and seeing Castle and Beckett w/ the baby - Castle - 11/25/13

Great show overall.

Not sure how this pertains to the Emmy show.

Well "son of a bitch" not really on the "7 censored words" list

Other than that it was a pretty standard show..

Has Steward lost an Emmy? he seems to always win... like Kimmel said on the intro, Cable shows have a huge advantage over the network shows..

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

Stewart has won 10 in a row for Series (nominated 12 in a row)

Letterman won the previous 5.

For writing, however, it hasnt always won (and wasnt even nominated some of the years it won best series)

I didn't think it was awkward. I thought it was the 2nd funniest bit of the night. Certainly better than anything Kimmel did. I thought he was a dull and lifeless host.

The funniest bit was the gag with the little girl from Modern Family.

Well, if you're going to get technical, his last name is actually spelled L-E-I-B-O-W-I-T-Z. wink.gif

The Emmy is fricking useless. Maggie Smith again instead of Christina Hendricks? Smith plays the same damn role in every damn thing. I think a movie critic once asked how she remembered which movie she was in. And Modern Family, again? They didn't even have a particularly good season. How about Louie? Amazing Race, again? How about the Voice, which at least put a new spin on the singing contests. Aaron Paul, fine, but couldn't they spread the wealth a little and give it to Esposito for his role of a lifetime? Bunch of idiots,

Also, is it me or does anyone who normally does movies get an automatic thumb up. Julianne Moore? Kevin Costner in something I never even heard of. It's embarrassing.

(I won't mention Clare Danes, because she really is great in Homeland, plus she had substantial TV career)

Stewart all but told them to give the award to freaking somebody else for once!!

It was good last night to see Danny Strong (one of the Nerd Trio on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jonathon) win an emmy.

I don't have cable/DBS, yet I've heard of The Hatfields & McCoys and even watched it. Excellent mini-series.

homeland over game of thrones???

At least they didn't give the Emmy to Parsons again...

Why wasn't Grammer nominated?
