I find both Joe and Micah annoying, but more so Joe. Emma less so this year, but maybe that's because there is so much competition this season: Joe, Micha, Blonde mom, twins, Black girl, FBI lady... Even sometimes Ryan, who repeatedly goes into situations where you know he's going to get blind sided because it's happened so many times b4. There was no excuse for not phoning his niece b4 he went into that house .It would have taken 30 seconds. He had no idea how many people might be in there. No lone cop would have done that.

I guess interest in this show is dying here at AVS. Maybe people had more fun ripping on it last season when it was big stupid?

Anyway, tonight I kept repeating, "shoot her in the leg" over and over for a good two minutes while my mom who was watching with me just looked, possibly thinking I was having some kind of attack. TV shows telegraph suicides so early these days it's frustrating when the characters stand there like idiots.

And I had a hard time buying that the cult would just accept the death of their leaders so easily, especially what can only be days or a couple of weeks after a famous serial killer arrived. And b4 now killing was not a part of their MO.

Otherwise, I liked the episode.

Since it was a 2 vs. 1 standoff, they had the upper hand, when she pointed the gun at one of them, the other could have shot the pistol out, of course they could claim they are bad shots, there were close enough not to miss a hand/gun

Then we knew it, this would end in suicide anyway..

I hereby nominate Mika for the Jim Jones Stupid Cult Leader Award! Never saw that coming. So now Joe has a new group of followers, complete with newly minted pyschosis that will make them willing killers for him. Let the attrition begin! rolleyes.gif

Honestly, I'm just hate-watching now. If I had omnipotent television superpowers, I'd transfer the ratings points from this show over to 'Hannibal', which has more brains, style, chills, and genuine creepiness in one hour than a whole season's worth of this show.

We haven't lost interest in the show. We just hate all of the negativity posts, for that reason I don't post very often. We find this show the most entertaining. Doesn't sit on our dvr very long at all. Seeing Claire alive at the end was SHOCKING too say the least. I don't find the cult followers accepting of Joe surprising, they are in a cult after all. Seeing Ryan working with the FBI director on the side is very cool, more resources for Ryan is a good thing. Killing Jacinda Barrett was disappointing, good eye candy and her acting is getting better.

Claire being back wasn't as huge of a surprise, to me, as was Mike appearing to have known this all along. Pulling the surprise "Claire isn't dead" is one thing... but Mike has been there and specifically lying to Ryan's face for a while now... That isn't going to play well when Ryan finds out.

I also wonder... Mike had specifically said in an earlier episode that he had no idea where Joe's son was... witness protection with a family member... Now that we know Claire is alive, I wonder if that's where her son has been too. On the one hand, splitting her from her son sells the public credibility that she is dead... but I can't imagine her easily agreeing to that.

They will also have to explain how this happened... Ryan last saw her stabbed "to death" in his home... in order to fake her death and move her to safety, that had to be a decision made very quickly and likely in part without her consent at first.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

Well, I have no problem piling on with negative posts. eek.gif It is not a good show, but the ratings are high. I guess it says something about the tastes of American viewers.

I still hate Emma and that will never change. I am hoping her and the black girl get into a fight. Unfortunately, Emma will win because it is a Fox show and they have no imagination.

I guess Max and Iceman will end up getting together.

I was both happy and sad to see Beth on tonight. Fortunately she was killed, so hopefully she can continue on Walking Dead.

Yeah I didn't find credited guest stars, just wanted to confirm it was Emily Kinney, unless she's her twin sister, yes she was..

So from Walking Dead she went to real dead... oh well

Anddddddd we return to stupidland. Well, at least they gave intelligent writing the old college try.

I suppose in a universe where a maximum security prison system lets a serial killer escape twice, I shouldn't be too surprised they can't keep a cult killer locked up either. But if I have to watch Ryan Hardy get caught by surprise in a situation where you are very likely to get caught by surprise, one more time.....Especially considering he's been caught by surprise so many times before. Apparently this former/current FBI specialist is unable to learn.

They need to put another disclaimer at the beginning of every episode... "Due to the extreme lazy and unimaginative writing, viewers are advised to leave your brains at the door".

By this point, that's generally understood. I'm struggling through this season because of the prior investment, but it will probably be my last.

BTW -- I think you can change a setting somewhere, probably on your phone, that will eliminate that other disclaimer from your posts - the one about which device you posted from.

It was understood last season. This season has been better, imo, which is he reason I posted this. I hope it's just a stumble.

They seem to be "following" the old BatMan series template ...
All theBatMan villians ( Joe, Twins & Mother, ect) wanted Batman & Robin ( Hardy & Weston) dead, but when they are able to capture them, they always give long speeches, and/or tied him up with some elaborate drawn out plan for demise, that they can always of course escape ....

Joe, Lilly, Luke ect Plan Hardy's Demise:

No Worries, Weston and Hardy's Niece to the Rescue:

" Thanks to Weston, I'm Able to have another drink with my favorite TV Reporter! "

To be fair... Most of the time they have been pretty clear that they don't want to kill Hardy. They like screwing with Ryan.

The surprise was in not killing his niece that time... like the way Lily offed Mike's dad... that's what really should have happened with Ryan's niece. They want to screw with Ryan but keep him alive to suffer. That's been the MO since day one.

I am going to finish out the season, but probably won't return next year.

Tonight, the episode started out ok. I was even digging the frat house scene especially when they killed the couple. From there it went downhill. Let me see if I understand this. They have a good lead on the fact that the preacher's son may be in danger. It takes them 12 hours to get to the college. They of course arrive just in time. Why didn't they call it in, so the local feds could get there and possibly save the kid?

My struggles to get through the season are intensifying. Still have the prior weeks's ep on the machine and deleted the scheduled recording last night in order to free up a tuner to watch the NCAA game. (Mrs. Archi watches 'The Voice', which overlaps, and I'd better not frak with that show if I know what's good for me.)

That means I'll have to suffer through the commercial load on the Primetime On Demand channel to see it (FF is disabled). I'm about this far (holds fingers very close together) from calling it quits right now. Who can talk me out of it?

So they take the preacher's son in that van, and they aren't worrying they could be followed, specially with Ryan's car outside, at least slash his tires... and yet again Hardy going with no backup, well he's there so call the cavalry!

Not just this but any show that I would have to suffer the commercials would be a deal barker. I use direcTV and have more than one DVR, and the wife has her own room for watching TV. never a conflict, maybe you need to switch service.

I am not going to try to talk you out of it. Three episodes left is the only reason I am sticking around. Strike that. The other reason is the coming confrontation between Joe and Lilly. That may be more epic than the Ryan and Joe.

If this show had the balls, then they would have Lilly kill off Joe and she would be the main bad guy next year. What are the odds of that happening?

I'm moving to a new house in a few months. Theoretically. If it ever stops raining and lets us finish (wish I could send you guys a few million gallons frown.gif ). My new cable company (buh-bye TWC!) uses the Moxi system with, I believe, 6 tuners in their DVR. No more conflicts at that point.

Totally agree. That is the reason I am still around and that is the direction they should take the show. At this juncture, I am not back next season...

Like others, I'm hangin' in there since we only have a few episodes left .. I don't think this season has been all that bad in some areas .. what bugs me the most is Joe just stumbling upon a new Cult that he is able to sway into another Manson family .. I mean, what are the odds .. ??

And Jake Weber as Micah, the leader of the Korban cult .. should be voted one of the worst performances in TV history .. IMO ..

I actually really liked the show last year. The problem with the show as we saw last night is they won't kill off Joe or Ryan so that showdown where Joe could kill Ryan has zero tension to it. Of course he won't kill Ryan.

Maybe in the absolute final series Finale End Day, they will kill each other .. however, based on the ratings, we've may still have a ways to go ..

I don't think there was ever supposed to be any "Joe might kill Ryan" tension in that scene.

The tension was actually in the "can Joe break someone else" coupled with "Joe can make Ryan watch" sequence... So, Joe doesn't want to kill Ryan... he wants to hurt him by perpetuating Ryan's backstory of how he fails to save people over and over again.

I grant you that it can get old... but that's been the setup from day one. Joe says "don't kill Ryan" so that he can keep him around. Ryan is Joe's "witness" in a sense... meant to be kept around to see all the damage and to hurt for being unable to prevent it.

Of all the things to nitpick on the show... this seems like the least of things. Crazy people do crazy things... like keep someone around to torment even if keeping that person around makes the crazy people less safe.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

At least on broadcast TV anyway.

So Ryan watched TWO people ignore his plea's not to kill in this episode. Maybe next time he should try reverse psychology!

I keep watching because of Kevin Bacon, and ONLY because of Kevin Bacon. I kept hoping the show would get better, and for the first part of this season, I thought it had. Not great, but better. Then they went and aired the last two episodes.

At this point I can only prey none of the writers has any association with ANYONE working on the new 24. And I hope no one working on 24 has seen this show!

For whatever reason, I can accept what I will refer to as, "unlikely behavior", on 24, over the just plain stupid behavior on this show. Sometimes it actually pisses me off. They should have called it " Really? ", staring Kevin Bacon.

Really? Ryan hasn't been able to catch Joe in like 8 years, so he decides to go it alone against a compound of 50 to 100 people? Really?

Really? The black girl killed her own mother with a knife, yet when Joe starts getting others to kill for him she runs? And not back home, but to the people she fled from just a few weeks earlier. Really?

I guess we're not going to see that confrontation between Joe and Lilly. Just as well. It would probably involve lots of talking, ending with Joe getting one or both of the twins to kill Lily for him.

I wish Bacon would return to movies, but if the ratings are there, is probably unlikely. He's getting regular (for a film actor) working hours. Probably better for his family life.
