As stupid as it seems... I swear I read stories about the FBI handling things similarly in real life. I'm not defending it... but it sure seems like when the stuff hits the fan, people don't do the smart thing when chasing a suspect.

The third season has been utterly boring and predictably terrible. I thought parts of season one and two were entertaining in stretches, mostly due to their unpredictability. It is quite apparent their writing talent fled for better shows.

The problem is Joe was 50% of the show. Very charismatic, witty, and funny with his dialogue. But you can't chase him for 4 seasons. Those types of shows have a limited year or two shelf life. You can keep it going but it suffers greatly. They also stopped killing off main characters and cut down on the gore that attracted many viewers in the first place.

Reminds me of Prison Break. After season 2, Prison Break had nothing left and was truly awful.

The interesting characters were Joe, who is barely on it, and Emma who they killed off last season.

After reading all of the comments, I think I can proceed with what I was thinking. Like others, all of the episodes from this season are sitting on my dvr unwatched. As of tonight, they are gone and the season pass deleted.....

I followed it last season, could not swallow it this season. I dumped it off the DVR months ago for the same reason I stopped reading James Patterson. Kill people, change names, kill some more, and yes the bad guy is the evil geniuses, with a junk name.

I'm actually liking this season better than the previous seasons. I've really enjoyed the Michael Ealy character. And now I've been watching The Following on the night it airs and pushing Gotham to being watched later in the week. I've been surprised that I have enjoyed the FOllowing so much this season.

I thought this weeks episode (Ryan going into the prison to get the hostages released) was one of the best of the series. IMO, too bad all the episodes were not of this level. YMMV.

Champion of getting his arse Kicked - Joe Hardy!

Really? Been watching this for nearly 3 years but the plot line's has gotten so moronic as to be shameful it's become more Marvel Lunacy than FBI. Been viewing crime shows since the 60's and I have never seen a main character get his butt kicked more than Kevin Bacon and yet he survives repeatedly.

Could somebody at FOX enroll his ass in a few self defense courses? My God it's so ridiculous and likely holds the world record for DUMB Cop moves into danger without back-up.

Has anyone counted the time's he flubbed a capture and lost a confrontation? Typically, that Defrib/pacemaker he has implanted is for heart arythmia and weak cardiac enfarction and I wear one. Extremely unlikely FBI would have him on Crime pursuits with those limitations - in real life he'd be retired and if a consultant they wouldn't have him running rogue - that's pure BS.

But really if your going to send him out could you teach him self defense! He should have been dead perhaps 50 times by now.

Shocked Kevin Bacon would agree to depiction of himself as such a PUSSY and DUMB FBI Agent. You almost continue watching to see how much dumber can they plot it. Escape after escape after escape . . . No wonder criminals obsessed with him since they all repeatedly escape and every woman he Loves gets murdered and likely the current one is on he hit list to end the season - like that wasn't predictable. Joe's as dumb as a Farty - how does an FBI Agent go Rogue when he has ZERO Self Defense or Capture Skills.

I was hoping the show would last long enough to turn Kevin Bacon into the crazed serial killer... it seems like they were starting to track that way... as he finds it increasingly easier to kill the bad guys without thinking about it or feeling any remorse. It's just a hop from there to deciding who is bad and deserves to die, from Joe Carrol's point of view.

You do realize it's a TV show right?(or was a TV show ) It's not real. TV shows and movies have never portrayed the real world. They portray a fantasy world. The rules of the real world have never applied.

I never understood folks trying to do that. They even do it with superhero shows. Go sit in the lobby of a precinct for some boring but true to life reality.

If memory serves, he started out Season One as a consultant sort .. as the show progressed, it seemed the writers wanted to Jack Bauerize the character .. it didn't seem to work ..

At any rate, the show has diverged so, so far from the original premise, I for one, am glad to see it go .. the shelf life expired some time ago ..

Yep .. it was an inconvenient tidbit that simply had to go away .. unless he got a heart transplant somewhere along the way .. and now that I'm riffing off that ..

Joe's heart is harvested and transplanted into Ryan, and suddenly Ryan turns into Joe .. oh, sorry, I think that's been done before ..

I would say Joe was 55% of the show. Witty humor and all. But also during that first season the cult aspect was huge. You never knew who was in the cult. Cops, FBI, neighbors, girlfriends, etc. They would just strike out of the blue. They also stopped killing off characters. The mike dude should be dead but he won't be. The niece would have been dead by end of season one. Do think Ryan's doctor girlfriend will die next week if they don't want to end on a lame note.

I always thought they were eventually going to reveal her as part of a cult... kept being surprised they didn't... especially when she kept saying "you can tell me your secrets" I thought it was part of the ploy to get Ryan and the others to "confess".

I had a friend who was a former police detective. Boy did he have tales to tell. And a well know author used to hang out in his shop and probably used some of them in his books. No it wasn't Elmore Leonard but the stories were that weird and the criminals as stupid.
