At least some of the Corvette owners that come out and show their support also act like complete tools. We have not run into any of that with other marques' car corrals.
I haven't run into that.
Although I haven't really hung out with 'em neither.

Inspite of not owning one, I don't think there is a bigger bang for the sports car buck than a Corvette.
Excellent performance for the price IMO.cool.gif

I spent most of my young car-guy life dreaming up ways to make fun of vettes, but the last few generations are pretty impressive.

For the record, my dream car of what's available is an Audi A4S. The problem with these kinds of cars isn't the actual mileage, it's the range. Small car = small tank, so when you shoehorn a big motor in there ...

Outside of an intriguing engineering exercise I really have no love for the 911. The Cayman though, mmm, for a second car, hard to beat in my odd little world.

Eve: I thought I was through getting involved with men who were trouble. Falling in love on a look. I can't look at you.

Mickey: You have perfection about you. Your eyes have music. Your heart's the best part of your body. And when you move, every man, woman and child is forced to watch.

I know they probably never will but I would like to see Porsche come out with an all new 911. And by that I mean the way it looks. It has looked basically the same since it came out 40 years ago or whatever. And all of their other cars just look like a variation of the 911. I know Porsche makes a great car but they all basically look the same. I would like to see something like the 928 again. Or anything different from the 911.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

All this yammering about road cars, can we talk a little about F1? :-)

I note that my DVR has already found all of the NBCSports listings for Australia. All appear to be live, and they even have coverage for Practice One. That's encouraging, given all the fear of tape delay coverage, webcasts, etc..

You're right, that is a problem.
My CTS-V has only an 18 gallon tank and because I drive it hard....
Let's just say the need for frequent fuel pit stops and my ancient prostate forcing me to pee all the time....well, there is kind of a symbiosis there.wink.gif

Everything is live, but looking again, there is a 1/2 hour pre-race show, but no coverage of P3.

That's what a DVR is for!

Countdown is on a bunch of times this weekend, check your listings.

Yes, the DVR, i got it set up. I just watched Countdown, enjoyed it, looked great on the tv, but at half hour it seemed very rushed. Everyone was talking fast and all the stories were too short, no real details on anything. Needed to be an hour show.

Interesting that everything looks to be live save for Hungary and Spa. I wonder if that is a typo?

For motion video like sports, 720p is preferable to 1080i.

If they rented lambos around here, I'd rent one for a day or two, just for fun. But own one? No way, useless as a driving tool, and that's all I'm interested in.

Yep - I bet the most fun a guy can have at the track would be some kind of Miata. They're pretty awesome as a dedicated track car, or so say their many fans.
