Probably a common robber. Teenage punks love to rob the students all the time. They are easy prey and usually have laptops, money, smartphones, etc.

No question, it's a dandy.

I don't think this has been posted before: F.A. driving a 458 Spyder.

I find it kinda funny.
If you watch closely, you can see he is trying to drive it like it's a racecar (it's not).

I so hope that next year NBC gets their sh*t together with consistency in program labeling, channels, etc.

I had strange happenings on my DirecTV DVR. I manually set which sessions I want to record in the week before the next race. Got practice and qualifying down OK, they recorded as expected. Set the pre-race to record, declined the added 30 minute extension that comes with live events, set the race to record with an added hour.

When I opened up the recordings list, it showed no pre-race and 2 recordings - full length - of the race. But I couldn't click on one of them, it just rolled me to the next one. And that was the entire pre-race/race/extra hour. So I didn't miss anything, but the DVR sure had a strange way of getting there.

Whoever took that picture understood the value of what film makers call "Magic Time," when the sun is low, shadows are long, and everything is cast in a golden glow.

Trust me,my friend who took that pic.knows no more about photography than I know about splitting atoms. He was working as Black Flag Marshall that weekend and after a BBQ and cocktails he wandered around the track taking pics.until security stepped in.

My DirecTV DVR did something weird too.
For the first time ever it recorded a program twice at the exact same time on the exact same channel.eek.gif
I ended up with 2 copies of the race on Sunday, both recorded at 4:30AM.confused.gif

Newey on next year's engines:

Red Bull's chief technical officer Adrian Newey said that the "engine-dominated" changes that will be implemented next season would result in their success becoming depend on Renault's ability to produce the goods.

"The new regulations for the power unit are massively complicated," Newey told ESPNF1.

"For the engine manufacturers themselves, it's very complicated for us - the chassis manufacturers - and it's a very complicated installation which the mechanics won't take an instant liking to, probably."

Red Bull will go in search of their fifth consecutive World Championship crown, which would be a great accomplishment when considering that new regulations will see F1 teams revert from using 2.4-litre V8 engines to 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engines.

"Certainly the regulation changes are engine-dominated," said Newey.

"It's not at all clear at the moment whether one of the three manufacturers (Renault, Ferrari and Mercedes) we have next year come up with a better product than the other two from both a performance point of view and also reliability, which could be quite a concern at the start of the season, certainly.

Newey added that this significant change in output is not their only concern.

"So it's very hard to judge where we'll be at the start of the year. We've also got some quite significant aerodynamic regulation changes which are not nearly as big as the ones we had in 2009 but still by normal year-to-year standards very big changes."

More strength to the Perez dumping:

Rumours that Kevin Magnussen is off to McLaren are continuing with fresh claims that 'McLaren are seriously considering replacing Sergio Perez.'

The longer McLaren wait to confirm Perez for next season, the more the rumours about his pending axing grow.

In recent days McLaren's test driver Magnussen has been linked to the Mexican's seat with the BBC now claiming that the F1 team is "seriously considering replacing" him as a "series of unconvincing displays by Perez in his first year with the team have raised questions about whether he is up to the level demanded by McLaren."

The Beeb reports that "senior figures in McLaren believe Perez has proved this year that he does not have the skill-set to flourish under new rules that will add complexity to F1. They also question whether he is fast enough.

"McLaren recognise that Perez is not a long-term solution for them, but some in the team feel if that is the case they may as well get rid of him now."

Enter Magnussen.

McLaren believe the son of former F1 driver Jan Magnussen has the potential to be a future F1 World Champion and could be the future of McLaren.

"If the team signed Magnussen," the BBC continued, "they would then be able to choose between him and Button as Alonso's team-mate for 2015 if they were successful in tempting the Spaniard away from Ferrari."

As for Magnussen, the Formula Renault 3.5 Champ, says he has what it takes.

"If I get the chance with a big team then it would be because they expect me to deliver and only because they think I am the right solution," he said.

"I feel I'm ready. I have won in everything I have driven in so why would that change in Formula 1?"

No question last year's race was a big hit with everyone involved.
America (and Mexico) really came out and supported F1 in a BIG way.

A Bucket List item for me; I'll be there for all 3 days and nights.smile.gif

Looks like there may be reason for other teams to get their hopes up for 2014:

Adrian Newey has raised concerns that Red Bull's push for this year's titles has compromised their 2014 package.

While some rivals switch development to their 2014 car months ago, Red Bull continued to develop this year's RB9.

Those efforts paid off when Sebastian Vettel's victory at the Indian GP wrapped up both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships.

However, those titles could yet cost the team next season.

"I guess in terms of development this year, we felt we were being pushed quite hard by our rivals," the Red Bull tech chief told ESPN.

"Ferrari [pushed us] very much at the start [of the season] - Fernando can never be forgotten - and then Mercedes started to look very strong in the mid season.

"We had to keep pushing and we put a lot of work into developing this year's car, which in truth meant some compromise to the development of next year's car, but we felt we needed to do that.

"You could argue with 20:20 hindsight that we could have backed off earlier than we did and put more of our resources into next year, but if we'd done that too early and not got the Championship we'd be feeling pretty sick at the moment."

He added: "Some of what we have learnt will transfer to next year as well because the underlying aerodynamics are still similar.

"Other bits, unfortunately, have met their natural evolution and can't be applied to next year's regulations."

Asked whether Red Bull would be on the limit getting their new car out in time for the first pre-season test in Jerez, Newey said: "Yes, it's a big effort now from everyone to get the car ready for the first test."

Yet another RB smokescreen. rolleyes.gif They always try to pull this crap. They will be just fine.

I'm too lazy to research it, but I'm pretty sure they have said that the last couple of seasons and we see how that turned out.

Yeah, they have said it before.
However, if there is to be a year where it might actually be true, it will be 2014.wink.gif

The Scuderia should be in good shape next year.
Of course, providing KR and FA can get along with one another (and the team).
