I noticed that too. Straight from the middle of Q2 before the commercial break to post Q3 after. The rebroadcast later had the whole thing.

You lasted a lot longer than I did. I stopped watching around Monza.

Not only did we lose the most important parts of qualifying, but the race podium interviews were deleted. Do you believe that a curling session preempts of qualifying? If NBC does not want to or understand how to show F1, then drop it and let Fox get it back. NBC, you are a big disappointment and have no understanding of what you are broadcasting. Fortunately, I was able to pick up the missing pieces in the reruns.mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

Are you guys talking about the live quali broadcast on CNBC, or the tape delayed quali broadcast?

I DVR'd the live CNBC broadcast, and don't recall seeing any problems, but I may have dosed off or, since I FF through the commercials, I may have just completely missed the screw up.

The did have a major screw up at the end of the race and missed the podium ceremony live, but once they woke up, they did broadcast it in its entirety.

The thing that gets me is that NBC got the F1 broadcast rights once the US finally got a home Grand Prix. OK, so NBC gets their first crack at televising the US Grand Prix and screws the pooch left and right. I imagine F1 is tickled pink with their new US broadcast partner. I bet the curling trials went off without a hitch. rolleyes.gif

This is because NBC is lost in space. They even let Leno go, and unless they are paying him big bucks he could move to Fox channel 11 in Souther California. I just new that when F1 ended up on BS network this is what we get. mad.gif

Seriously. Curling.

I was hoping my DVR was screwed up.

I always set my DVR to record 2 hours past the end of anything F1. Dont know if that is the reason or not but I didnt miss anything. I saw the podium interviews and all of qualifying. Everything I recorded was the live broadcasts and was normal for me.

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

The quali that I recorded was missing large parts of the middle and all of Q3. They hacked it up.

I extend my recording by quite a bit too.

That may be my case also. I have to admit I wasnt paying nearly as much attention as usual.
But I had no problems with the race. Mario Andretti did the podium interviews.

NBC is out to kill F1 in the US. I think its the LEFT coast bis and the race is in Texas. Just like the Michelin tire fiasco at Indy some years back.mad.gif

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, I watched qualifying live on Saturday and Q3 was definitely there. They had major audio difficulties after the race, but the interviews by Andretti were fine. Maybe a problem with some affiliates?

My main complaints to NBC are all the damned commercials. Somehow Sky can afford to show the race in its entirety and the PQ is much much better (thanks internet).

I agree. It did seem like there were more commercials than usual on NBCSN and they were poorly placed. Also the sound for the race sucked. The picture quality was better though.

I have to respond to this again because I just realized the details of what you posted.
What I recorded was not missing any of Q3 other than the one commercial break. That was the only part that I really paid attention.

I must have recorded the wrong broadcast slot then. My recording started with forty five minutes of some fat guys coaxing a roomba down a greasy floor with some sticks.

Once they started quali, they went to a commercial somewhere in Q2, and when it came back it was showing Seb rolling into parc fermé with another pole.

That is exactly what happened to me. I know I set my DVR for the live broadcast with 2 hours overrun built-in. Fortunately, the evening rebroadcast was complete, but shame on NBC.frown.gif

No worries. The fat guys with sticks was probably more interesting.

Whew, boy, this is seriously getting old. I don’t know what can be done, if anything, but I am fed up with Vettel winning every race. It is literally sucking the enjoyment out of the sport for me. When you know who is going to win the race after the first turn of the first lap, it annoys me. Part of the fun in watching a race is seeing what happens to get the eventual winner in position, and what happens to the other contenders, but now, in current F1, we know the eventual winner when the lights go out, and there ARE NO OTHER CONTENDERS!!!! I absolutely love Formula 1, but sadly, I don’t know if I can take another season or two of watching Vettel win 90% of the races.

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.

Just imagine how you would feel if your name was Hamilton, Alonso, Rosberg, Raikonen, Grosjean…. :-)

Yeah, but I'm a fan, they still get paid, regardless.

I just want good racing, that is all, and good competitive racing means that there will be more than one person winning every race. Oh, one more thing, I want the cars to have numbers on them that you can see. I understand the "T" bar color, but give them actual numbers that they have and mean something, and carry over from season to season, and please, make them visible to the fans.

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.

No doubt. Alonso seems to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I believe he has been second every year that Vettel has won.

Vettel is prescient enough, judging by his post race radio transmission, to know that it can't last. Schumacher was similarly dominant, but he also faded. I survived Schumacher, I'll survive Vettel.

It was nearly the same during the Schumacher years. The total domination nearly led me to stop watcinhg. Next year could be entertaining unless one team nails it and gets it all right and the rest struggle to play catch up. Lets hope that dosen't happen.
