IndyLights has a shorter schedule and dont race as many races as IndyCar. I wonder if GP2 is similar. They may not be racing this weekend.

Many thanks to Ferrari for having the courage to put it all out there and provide a great race! smile.gif
With Massa doing well this year, if they can get their car to be even close to as good as managing the tires as Lotus then they are on the way to a Chamionship.

Outstanding drive from Alonso! The outside on turn 3? Nice! Massa did exceptionally well also considering his penalty. I'm glad he is back on form to help with the constructors. Kimi is Mr. Consistency. I can't imagine how frustrated Nico and Lewis are!

I dropped Directv 2 weeks ago and thought I would have to do without Formula 1 witch is on NBC Sport Net. Well my local Telefutura station carries the NBC feed with no commercials. So I am able to watch formula 1 with no commercials. This is better than paying Directv and having to watch commercials during the race.

That's Univision - I watch their feed on DirecTV smile.gif You're right, no commercials (and me not speaking Spanish) is a great way to watch the race. Not understanding the commentary, I'm forced to pay attention to what I see on screen and it's much more involving that way - you have to pay attention. Uni also shows qualifying with no commercials when cars are on track (that seems to be the basic rule - cars on track = no breaks.) They also show the after-race bit in the ready room, and a few minutes of the world feed before qualifying. Basically, the times that NBC would feature their talking heads, Uni shows the video feed, which is great for me.

They don't show the interviews, so I record both to check that and stuff I didn't understand, on NBC.

Eve: I thought I was through getting involved with men who were trouble. Falling in love on a look. I can't look at you.

Mickey: You have perfection about you. Your eyes have music. Your heart's the best part of your body. And when you move, every man, woman and child is forced to watch.

Interesting race. I guess no one can say that Ferrari doesn't have the best car on the grid now. Ferrari #1 ran a great race with #2 doing pretty good. Ferrari really should replace their second driver.

One thing I would love to see, which will never happen, is tire competition. I know the Indy debacle soured F1 on this, but all they have to do is make sure each supplier has a hard compound that will work no matter what. Combine it with my other dream of a significant reduction in aero downforce and F1 might have a lot of on-track passing. Of course, that would be to logical, so we have to hear Diffey get girlie excited about a pass for the lead over pit stops.

My new favorite game is Stop the Bots

I agree that Ferrari should replace Massa. But they would be hurting themself to do it midyear. He knows the car and is doing ok. I think this will be his last year.

I saw a lot of on track passing.

Pirelli could make a tire that lasts much longer but F1 does not want them to. They are made to not last very long on purpose to make things more interesting.

I dont see how a reduction in downforce would create more passing if the reduction is done to all cars.

I feel the exact same way!! It was so great to watch them charging all the way, and to have both of them on the podium, and what a great thing not only to see Ferrari get a victory, but a great day for the Spanish fans to see Alonso win.

By the way, they said Fernando bikes 3-1/2 hours in the morning, then runs 2 hours, then goes to the gym. And some fools say drivers are not athletes!

What a surprise too, Weber had a bad start!! What the hell is wrong with this guy? A good driver in a good car who race after race can NOT start properly??????

It is odd, but yet, he finished right behind Vettel, so it didn't hurt him that bad.

I agree that Ferrari #2 can't be replaced midseason. He should be replaced next year and really should have been canned this year. They could pay any of the drivers on the backmarkers a quarter of his salary and receive the same results.

Remove the artificial DRS and how many passes where there. There seemed to have been a couple more than usual in this race. I think a lot of the passes that I remember where on the one lap wonder Mercedes.

You obviously don't know much about aero. If you reduce the amount of downforce (say a quarter of what they have now), then you will have longer braking distances and slower corner speeds. This gives drivers more of a chance to make a pass into and out of corners.

Yes. I understand that. But please explain how reducing the aerodynamic downforce on ALL cars will increase on track passing.
Or are you suggesting that they reduce it only on select cars so that all the other ones can do more passing?
And if you reduce downforce by 75% they will be much slower. Do you want to see F1 cars racing at GP2 speeds?

No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!

If F1 wants more passing, the best thing thing they can do is stop having tires that throw klag onto the track.
With klag scattered thick outside the racing line, the drivers are not inclined to risk covering their tires with it while attempting a pass.
We end up with a follow-the-leader kind of racing.
