Kinda sad? Hell, the guy has 9 championships and is a god in WRC. I doubt hes losing any sleep about not driving in F1.

Meanwhile, Porsche has previewed their new prototype entry for the series. It has already been performance balanced to compete fairly with the Daytona Protoypes, but they still handle better than the DPs, so expect to see them on the podium until NASCAR's spotters figure out how to signal ghost cautions to the DPs advantage.

Traditionally, the ALMS schedule comes out at Petit, but I think it was early last year. Who knows now?

I'm hoping they put Portland Oregon back on the map.
It's a 9 hour drive for me to Laguna Seca.

I thought there was a problem with that track, not meeting IMSA standards anymore or something like that. I would go to a Portland race. I have a sister living in Beaverton.

I'm not aware of a "problem" with the track, but there certainly could be.

Anyway, for some reason whenevere the ALMS would come to town, ever year the gods of weather would come up with the worst weekend of weather for the summer.
Everything from insane heat to thunderstorms from hell....

I'm going to admit that I will watch NAPCAR at the Glen. Watkins Glen is an awesome track and there is something about seeing those over weight pig cars get tossed around it.

Well, if they show at Portland I'll probably go, but I'm not counting on it. I would say...

Daytona
Sebring
COTA
Laguna Seca
Road America
VIR
Mosport
Watkins Glen
Long Beach
Indianapolis
Barber
Road Atlanta

are much more more likely choices for a 12 race season, if it's even that long (not necessarily in that order).

I've watched it many times before. That race and Daytona are the only ones I'll watch. It's nice when they add the professional road racers to the grid to help out. There used to be more of an advantage when they raced along side the NASCAR drivers. The gap has narrowed now. They need to do more road courses, ovals are so boring, it becomes a race of attrition not necessarily driving skill.

One of the best sounding race engines made.This is the Mazda RX-792,the successor of the le mans winning 979B.I got the chance to see this car run twice.at Sebring in 92 and at the Miami GP,it caught fire both times.It had a problem burning up its bodywork.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i4UTlGcqc4

I saw a parade at Road America. Sebastian Brodais leading the rest of the Champ Cars around the track. It go so boring we left early (we went for the ALMS race of the previous day).

Yes, I know. And the LMP2 cars will have to be performed balanced to give the DPs and Delta Things a chance to compete. P2 is essentially dead and I doubt the DeltaWIng program will ever take off. The Prototype class will essentially become Grand Am DP by 2015 or so, IMHO.
