It's all over our local news tongue.gif

Seems like it's a huge deal if there were after parties and 10:00 news airings about it.

But yeah, congrats!

I read an article which quoted Blake...

"I wanted to make sure that Nashville respected her as much as they could," country singer Shelton said after the show. "Obviously, she's an incredible vocalist, but I wanted them to know that she respects country music and that's why we kept throwing it back to artists from 10-20 years ago ... showing Nashville that she can do that stuff, she can do new stuff. She can perform with Hunter Hayes, she can sing with me. Whatever it is you throw at her she's capable of doing."

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2013/06/18/nbcs-the-voice-names-a-season-4-winner/2436167/

I found it interesting that presumably he was looking ahead to her career and trying to position her for success. Versus worrying about winning? Was he that sure she would win, perhaps he didn't care if she did... or thought voters wouldn't care or would embrace the old school songs. Back in the day I know Kellie Pickler was adopted by Nashville and it has served her well... heck she just won a mirror ball. smile.gif

I know skyehill posted a pic of Christina recently showing she lost weight, but damn she looked phenominal last night. Within 10 seconds of seeing her, I was over her bitchy attitude and happy to see her again. biggrin.gif

While we knew Danielle was going to win, at least Michelle got second over the Swons. If it was the other way around, then there would have been something wrong with people.

I'm curious as I don't think I've ever heard this mentioned. Does the winner of this show get a cash prize?

Incidentally, another very young throwback artist who did not deviate much from the hits he copied has won The Voice Australia. His vocal talents mirror the remarkable ones of Daneille in many respects. He is Harrison Craig and can be checked out on YouTube.

All I've ever heard is a recording contract and nbcthevoice.com says that as well ..

In other Voice news, it's been reported that Blake's team for next season is already filled as everyone knows he's the path to victory. tongue.gif

I thought Shakira showed a lot of class in the last few shows where she continued to participate and cheer on the contestants, even after her team had been eliminated. It was a complete reversal of stink-face and pouty Christina.

For some odd reason, I though Cher actually sounded pretty good and I enjoyed the song, much more then Christina's off pitch singing.

Seegers appearance, although his voice has seen better days, was great .. the Band Nellie sang with was excellent ..

Although I have to admit that for her age, Cher looked pretty good, I think she was lipsyncing .. not that it matters ..

Definitely! I loved how she had the "Go Okees" pennant for the Swons, the glasses for Michelle, and the cowboy hat for Danielle. biggrin.gif

Cher looked like a 67-year old women whose life-long habit of cosmetic "enhancements" have started to take their toll. For her, HDTV is one long nightmare.

Too bad Cher chooses the pathetic kiddie stuff to perform and continues to play the fool rather than use her exceptional voice in straight up singing. She has always been a complete ditz though.

Both my wife and I came to the same conclusion....Cher was definitely lip-singing.

And I'm sure most of the little kiddies in the audience were like "Who is that?" when she came out.

In a way, I wish they would maintain a new season each year only .. or maybe do a new season every 9 months or so .. at any rate ..

Chime in ..
