Yeah well 30-39 would seem like overkill and would be three or four seasons in one, but something say like 13-15 would be nice. Ten's better than nothing. Probably better to keep us wanting more.

52/4=13 seems about right... twice a year even better even with writing, production time, and star's family time/vacations.

You can have that again, but not on Cinemax unless you'd accept commercial breaks. These companies budget on a yearly basis, with a set amount available per series. We get whatever that budget will allow. If its 10 eps, its 10 eps.

All those episodes led to a lot of mediocrity and filler, too.

It wasn't such a big deal in the era before complexly plotted serialized drama, more or less beginning with 'St. Elsewhere' and 'Hill Steet Blues'. But there's no way 'Breaking Bad' or 'The Newsroom' or 'The Sopranos', just to mention three (and there are now dozens more), could have been so freaking awesome if their writing staff had been required to meet that kind of production schedule.

I agree. In fact, I believe that the quality of the writing of a television series is in inverse proportion to the number of episodes in the season. For example, there is a reason why the wonderful British series, Sherlock is comprised of only three 1.5 hour episodes per series. This means that the writers have time to craft a terrific screenplay, which is really a movie, for each episode.

Whelp,
I do not have Cinemax with my new provider. Looks like I'll sign up for $10/month extra

I am worried that I will have to suffer with a hashtag on the screen. I do not need to know about the Twitter hastag for 45 minutes. It's on-screen clutter! Like every other show, they should display the tag for 10 seconds and then remove it. We get it..

The #BANSHEE hastag is still there
I didn't let it bother me. I ignored it after 5 minutes.

Great episode! Talk about a season opener

The last thing I want to do is tweet or otherwise distract myself from the episode but I didn't let the hash tag get in my way from enjoying the episode. ..welcome back Banshee, we missed you, we are back!!!!

Curse you, DirecTV, for offering free Cinemax for three days and letting me see tonight's show after canceling Cinemax three months ago.

Watched it off the DVR last night. What a great start. They really know how to raise the testosterone and tickle the testicles. Totally outrageous escapism...I imagine the demo runs to males from 18-80 with only a few female ride alongs, but that's ok for me

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

I liked it as always. Turning up the bad gal quotient big-time. I really liked and was surprised at the new opening -- as one reviewer put it perfectly a mashup of Breaking Bad and Fight Club.

Don't get me wrong, I still love this show. It just seemed to me that episode 2 was a lot more "Stylized" than what was before. Good, but different.

I also like the new introduction opening. Very well designed.

Carrie's new interest (the military guy) is a bit extreme. I wonder if that soldier really did not steal the money. If the money was planted by somebody else

Rebecca is becoming to be a mobster herself. That shootout scene was wild. Really good after-scene, the slow motion (or what ever it was.)

That was intense!

Burton ripping out Nola's vocal box (or spinal cord) was so gross.

That Mobster that was looking for Jason Hood went splat. lol

Classic Banshee. Hood saving the people that don't need to die.
