I did a search, here, on the forums and did not find a listing for Chicago Fire. So, if I'm repeating an existing thread, please feel free to delete. Anyway-the reason for my posting is to state my opinion of this show. Up until last year, I had lived/worked in Chicago for 35 years. This show has great location shooting. And, I feel the casting of the crew and the writing to be pretty good. After watching all the aired episodes, I feel really drawn to this show. I really don't have any nits to pick about it. How does anybody else feel about this show? Any comments about any aspect of it?

Glad I'm not alone! I too have become drawn to that show and its characters. I'm glad that Severide finally decided to ditch the drugs and have his shoulder surgery.

There have been several comments regarding Chicago Fire, but apparently no real thread was started so thank you for that. It is a quality show and one that I look forward to watching every week. The cast is good and they mesh well together. The storylines have been well-written and I hope NBC keeps up the good work. They have been on the bottom of the heap for so long, I'm glad to see them having at least a few successes.

I watched the first episode back in the fall and thought, "eh...a little too soapy for me." But I didn't remove it from the season pass list. Over Thanksgiving week, I noticed I had 5 or 6 episodes recorded, so I thought I'd burn through them in a marathon. By the third one, it really had me looking forward to the next one. Good series.

I've been watching since the first episode but forgot to search for a thread. The wife and I look forward to it every week and have grown to like the various characters who's backstory we've seen.

We also liked "Trauma", another NBC casualty. So, sarcastically, I fully expect NBC to can this in the coming weeks (something I know all/most AVS members know full well about!)

In our house, I joke that NBC stands for:

Being
Canceled

Yep, I enjoy every episode as well. But, I think I missed one and have to recheck, as the last one I watched had the Chief back, after he walked out, with no explanation as to how he returned.

Or how quick Severide recovered from the surgery... I thought he took the less risky one...

He took the riskier surgery, but ya, the recovery time interval was really short as well. Those four weeks went by real fast.

So, I'm assuming that was Sarah Shahi's swan song from Chicago Fire last night, tying up "loose ends" for her full transition to Person of Interest?

Indeed, she looks way better being a badarse than a "mom" if you ask me.. Also Main Cast Member>>>>>>Guest star on some other show

As soon as they suspected another firefighter being the arsonist I thought of that guy Severide visited

I never made the connection between the two characters. The appearance is so different and the actress dresses up so nicely on Chicago Fire as opposed to the scruffy assassin in POI. Maybe had she threatened to shoot Severide it would have triggered recognition for me. The POI character is a hoot and the highest and best use of her talents, I think.

There's SO MUCH "Actor Recycling" going on these days that a 'Senior Citizen' like myself often has a predisposed character in mind, based on the actor and not based on WHICH show I'm currently watching... confused.giffrown.gif

And, I'm not referring to different shows in DIFFERENT seasons - I'm referring to major roles in different shows in the SAME season! eek.gifbiggrin.gif

Any comments on last night's finale? I thought it was pretty good. Although, at the end (when the ENTIRE squad walked into the building), I knew the building was going to explode. I still really like this show and PD. Looking forward to the new shows this fall.

My thought after the explosion was somebody has to be dead.
Great leverage for NBC with contract negotiations for next season.

This is shaping up to be quite an interesting season. I previously watched Person of Interest "live" and recorded Chicago Fire. Now I record them both but now watch Chicago Fire "live."

Just watched the Tuesday night show because of conflict with S.O.A. good show but why didn't everyone know about Severides night of saving the lady on the train and 2 armed caught by the CPD? It should have been a big news story but yet nobody knew about it..How about a medal for him?

And why was the captain all upset about it?
Did he think he was out trolling for trouble?

This week's episode (crossover with Chicago P.D.)--Perhaps I am being too picky, but did anyone else think that the person playing the chief of arson investigations was not cast well? By that, I mean she seemed WAY too young to have achieved the rank of Captain--let alone chief of arson investigations. And, physically, I don't see how she could have passed the physical test (for a rookie/probie) to get into the fire department to start with. I am referring to (as it appeared to me) her "slight" physical build. She just appeared have a small, physical frame with not much musculature. Please do not misunderstand me--I'm not saying a female should not have been cast in this part. I'm just saying that this was the wrong person to be cast as this character. Any comments?

As I have stated before--I REALLY like both Chicago Fire/P.D.. I can't get enough of these shows. As mentioned earlier, the fire house portrayed is a real one at S. Blue Island Ave. and Maxwell street. Does anyone know where the police station for Chicago P.D. is located? Or, is it actually a fictional location?

Chicago Fire Location Visit

I was in Chicago for 1.5 days and while on the way out, I had to stop by the location of the firehouse that is used in the series.

They keep the "51" logos on the firehouse. I asked about that and was told that they don't care.

Anyway, here are my location images: image-1 image-2 image-3 image-4 image-5 image-6 image-7 image-8 image-9

On of the trucks was out getting fuel. It didn't make it back before I left.

As usual for a TV show, the interior isn't exactly the same. The kitchen/lounge is smaller than what is portrayed in the series. You'll also notice that the TV is a lot larger than the one on the set.

Good pictures--thanks! I lived in Chicago MANY years before I retired. I remember that I once drove past this address many years ago. But, of course, that was before the show started. So, I really didn't pay much attention to this fire house. I wish I could have known (back then) that a show concerning this house would occur.

Thanks. The online images are 12 MegaPixel, while the originals are 36 MP. The exception is the last image of the photos on the wall, as that comprises three images. Photoshop was used to stitch them together into a panorama (40.7 MP). The program I used on my Linux box reduced it to 8 MP.

I totally forgot about looking up the location of "Mollys." I could have visited that location as well.

Turns out that it is located in the northwest area, while the firehouse is in the southwest area.

The address is:

Lottie's Pub
1925 W. Cortland St.

Thanks for the info for the address of this place. I recently read that up till this season, they were, indeed, using that real bar at that location. But, due to conflicts in usage and scheduling, they found it to be more prudent (and cheaper) to just build a set that looks exactly like the real bar. So, for "exterior" shots, they may still use the real bar. But, for all "interior" shots, the bar you see is now a very realistic set.

You are welcome. Ya, the two Chicago articles that I found, one that listed the address, mentioned that the cost and inconvenience of shooting inside the pub resulted in the move to a Chicago studio look-alike set. I wouldn't be surprised if that studio also had the sets for inside the firehouse and inside the Chicago PD station. The article didn't give the address of the studio, but did mention the name. I didn't look any further.
