Yeah, as I said in my post that you quoted, it was a “hunch.” Later reports, of course, have given us more information about Ryhs’ character and it apparently won’t be the older Ivar.

I don't see any reason why they would re-cast Ivar. He's already a young adult in the show.

They didn't re-cast Bjorn. Speaking of, an interesting factoid about Alexander Ludwig is that his father Harold is co-chairman of the board for Lions Gate Entertainment Corp! Something tells me his audition probably went pretty well.

Wow. The scene where Ellisith (I think that's her name) almost got her revenge on King Harold Finehair was pretty wild. She planned perfectly, except for not having anyone to watch her back.

She got the guy's upper garments off making it easier to get a knife in, and then arranged for him to have his hands in a position where she could lock her thighs around them. Sweet Jesus, it was looking delicious for her.

I think though the producers want to draw out King Harold's takedown somewhat. Lagartha is going to want to take a shot.

The entire episode with her husband, Vichy I think his name, being killed required some serious suspension of disbelief. The guy just did not come across as an Earl. Way too soft and naïve. I'd have had my hand on my sword the minute Finehair showed up. His talk about "you never really wanted to marry me, did you" was way ominous. And if the guy was an Earl, you would think there would be some uproar about his summary execution by a rival.

Also, when she went to do the assassination, you would think two or three guys would've surreptitiously have had her back. Oh well, it's a dramatization.

Here's my best guess: they'll have Lagartha about to exact justice from the twit and right then a big, mean looking guy will show up saying that he is the brother of Ellisith and not happy about the deaths of her and her husband. He will say something like "my brother-in-law was a kind and generous man. I am not as kind of a man. I demand the justice of a duel." I don't think they'd use that phrase however.

Yes, great show. I wasn't looking ahead and it took me by surprise that this was the season finale. It always goes by too fast... I couldn't make out the name on the sword.

Look at the link I posted. I thought they switched to The Tudors all of a sudden.

The name on the sword wasn't the name from the article unless it's his last name on the sword, which I presume is normal.

Is there not any Viking consequences for one who just because of anger issues chucks a hatchet into a brothers heart. Does everyone just shrug their shoulders and dig into their supper afterwards. It seems just a tad excessive. I only wish he lived long enough to return serve into Ivars skull before he expired.

So, it appears that Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will appear on next season's "Vikings" as some kind of "Saxon Revenger" bishop just returned from fighting a Crusade in Jerusalem who will teach those Viking hordes marauding through ancient Britannia a different lesson in battlefield strategies.
Hmm, that sounds promising...

Interesting in that Ragnar Lothbrok was a 9th century person and the first crusade began in 1096 (the tail end of the 11th century).

Rhys is portraying the real historical figure, Heahmund.

More fascinating that Sigurd is younger the his great grandson Harald Finehair.

Spoiler!
