Guess most didn't catch this one. Digitally restored, now in a proper widescreen ratio, remixed audio, and additional songs that were never included in previous releases, including "Hello I Love You," "Spanish Caravan" and "The Wasp." Gone are the greyish blacks...now a proper, solid ebon. It has been running on the various PBS stations. Considering that it was filmed in 1968, this is absolutely the best I've ever seen it look. If you're a fan, it's a must-see.

Watched it last night on PBS. It looked and sounded great OTA! What's "ebon"?

I don't have anything against synonyms. At any rate, glad someone enjoyed the surprise (I had no idea a restoration was even in the works) as much as I.

Our local PBS then showed a live Who concert from 1975 taped in Texas. It wasn't even close to the quality that the Doors concert was. Had to turn it off. frown.gif

I'm jealous you guys are getting The Who and Doors, nothing but old recycled "favorites" in my market and believe they aren't my favorite of anything mad.gif
We used to get lots of good programming during pledge period.......lately all we get is pledge breaks.....frown.gif

This is coming on Wednesday evening at 7:30 Eastern time on Palladia, but I don't know if it is the "restored" version or not...

I believe it's time to Overthrow VerticalScope..
and Bring Back Huddler!

It's a shame that in the end TCU's playoff chances all came down to this . . .

Blu-rays & DVD's

If it's the restored version it is well worth watching if you are a Door's fan. You'll be able to tell right away because it looks and sounds as if it was just taped.

Sorry to hear that frown.gif This was a pledge break (new, not taped). We seem to get pledge breaks about every three months now (or so it seems) but the programming that PBS (Channel 9, SF Bay Area) presents during these pledge breaks is usually very good and first run (at least in our market). Now that Downton Abbey is over (at least Season 3) PBS usually does a good job of keeping quality programming up for all sorts of tastes. We've been a monthly contributor to PBS for over 20 years now so this is the kind of pay television that I don't mind paying for, and really the only kind that's worth paying for. smile.gif
