Not only that, but at the end Mick takes credit (at least part) for getting Terry out..

On another note, I hope that "Dog" comes back. I will miss seeing him if the doesn't

Even though I think the dog is ugly, it does seem like a happy fun dog. So with that being said, Abby should of ran away for good, she is boring on the show.

I hope Ray has bottomed out on his personal despair, and will rally a bit in his life. Granted, he's under Finney's thumb now, which will takes things in a new direction, but I would like to see a little more "fixing" of other people's problems than staying so busy with his own.

Finney's polite impatience with the governor spoke volumes about the power relationship between those two.

He of course lied to Terry. He knows that if he told Terry an amount Terry would try to pay him back. Technically it was "free" as Ray payed by selling his business (which is just him now). Ray knows exactly what he did, but he was willing to do just about anything to get Terry out.

He wanted to cash out and Ray wouldn't let him sell the business.

So Terry joined Mickey's half-baked plan for the heist.

But Ray would have paid the judge $100k to get Terry out and probably ended up signing at least a year of his life away to get Terry freed.

Might have been cheaper to let Terry cash out of the gym.

I thought it was something like 300k. If Terry cashed out then he would have no front for his business. He uses the gym to "wash" the "dirty" money his business takes in.

The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, but Ray's a principled criminal. And Jon Voight is a great actor, Mickey role is totally believable!

These are just my opinions.

Yes it is. When you give someone millions of dollars for their campaign and/or have the pull with other powerful and influential people that can literally make or break a campaign, you get what you want.

I did laugh at that statement though. It was unexpected. I thought Finney would remind him of what he can do for his campaign, blah, blah, blah, but nope. One simple sentence and done!

Nobody does as good a job of playing a slightly polished thug as Ian McShane. His performances as Finney have been terrific. He conveys just enough menace for us to understand that we need to be afraid, very afraid.

I had a boss earlier in my career who people called the "Big Tuna". His name was Tony, and he was 6'4" and well over 200lbs. He never "told" anyone what to do. He made "suggestions". Guess what? He always got his way. Surprising, eh? (I realize McShane isn't an imposing figure, but they have a lot in common.)

Btw, you seem to have "spidey senses" when it comes to someone invoking a Deadwood character's name.

Al Swearrengen was one of the greatest written tv characters of all time, in one of the greatest shows-Deadwood! the dialogue in that show was Brilliant! His character in this show is restrained at the moment. It would be nice if they allow him to put some heat into it.

Deadwood was my all time favorite TV series. Although it turns the air blue with its profane dialog, much of it scans in iambic pentameter. Not too many TV shows can claim to have been written in blank verse.

Thing is, Finney said his father shielded him from crime, which is where his inherited family fortune came from.

So while he's not a gangster, he's not above hiring people to take extra-legal measures on his behalf.

Plus apparently he pulls the strings of politicians.

Doesn't seem likely that these kind of people would have direct dealings with people like Ray.

Ray's on a leash. You really have to wonder how long this will last. He doesn't seem like a 9 to 5 guy.

I thought the scene with Ray looking at his new office (cell) was hilarious. Not that he used his other office that much (his apartment is his favorite hang out) but it really has put him into a funk.

Ian McShane is stone cold brilliant! And Deadwood was/is an incredible series.

Maybe Finney can get involved with Abby and whisper "Hi Trixie" in her ear....

Only problem with Deadwood is that people back then still had accents from the countries they came from. Even my grandfather in 1950 still had a Swiss-German accent. Guess that would have been a bit too much authenticity though according to historians they played a little loose with the location it was supposed to take place.

Excellent episode, I keep thinking I wonder how Ray will get out of this and be his own boss again. Only thing I didn't like were all the scenes with Abbie, just bored me to death. I couldn't care less what happens to her.

Awesome to see Ray's son take matters into his own hands! Thought for sure he was gonna have to call his dad but nope, beat down in the living room!

I thought it was interesting but wasn't crucial for the storyline indeed.

Like father, like son. Conner has witness his father's "mob style" behavior for years. Just doing what his father does

Wonder if Ray will congratulate him or scold him. I bet he'll be awarded LOL
