Folks outside the dome (i.e. the military) don't seem inclined to want to communicate with those inside. Yes they bussed people in who communicated via various methods with the insiders but to my recollection there has been no overt attempt to connect with those inside the dome. Indeed, it seems people outside have been kept way from the dome perimeter by the military. The bits and pieces of actual outside information has come from the radio station receiving faint transmissions and, oh yes, via the reverends hearing aid (moab!). The bit between Barbie and the soldier was totally unauthorized given how the soldier continually looked over his shoulder.

Really!!! Hey Arch, or anyone else - I can't easily go back to the first ep. but has it ever been established in the TV show where Chesters Mill is?

I think in this episode it was said that it had been a week since the dome came down. Looks like the food at the diner is holding out pretty well and there has been no evidence of consternation by the locals that future food supplies might be a problem. 'Course this time they were preoccupied with the visitation day and impending bomb. Oh well, maybe in a few weeks people will get hungry. Electric power also seems to be pretty plentiful. Where's that coming from, especially if Big Jim has been hording all the propane? Transmission lines from outside would have been severed by the dome and now, since MOAB, they'd be toast anyway.

Everybody still has enough fuel to run portable generators if they have them. Big Jim has been hoarding propane, yes, but he's been buying it (prior to the dome), not confiscating it from the citizens. But eventually, the fuel has to start to run out....

Did anyone notice on the graphics when they come back from commercial that it looks like the dome is flying and something is flying(?) up to it?

Disagree completely. They established that with the truck slamming into it, the plane crashing into it, etc. all in the first episode that those kinds of impacts do nothing, nor effect anything on the inside. Seems obvious that these high impact, high energy, events are to quick and absorbed/reflected to fast to do any kind of penetration to the inside of the dome. They then establish that a constant water pressure against the dome allows dampness to penetrate the dome over time with a constant stream hitting the exact same spot. Water wasn't flowing throw, the scientist/military were applying a constant water stream and the boys hand came away damp, water was NOT flowing through the dome. So where does the bomb fit into this? The thing they established in episode one, within minutes of the show starting. So how are the writers changing the properties of the dome if they established that property within minutes of the show's first episode???

It was a convenient way to get rid of him, and not tell the authorities what he was doing, when they find him they are going to think the reverend made a mistake getting close to the Dome..

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

I know Maine was the setting in the book, but has that been established in the show yet?

Does it really matter? If it were in Ohio would it be different than if it were in Oklahoma?

No, it doesn't matter. But someone asked, someone else answered, and I had a question about the answer. My apologies for doing so, I guess.

It's said you have to write about what you know. King knows Maine.

And thanks to him, many of us do too. I know I'd be petrified to go there. God knows what could happen to you. eek.giftongue.gif

Most likely way off topic, but any of you read the "Gunslinger series"? I wanted opinions on if you think it would be a good movie? Not TV movie that's too tame due to the graphic violence and sex in the books. Bring on "Blaine the Train"!

Never say never .. "The Dome" in it's book form would have been impossible as a TV mini series but they've managed to twist it enough to air ..

IMO, the Gunslinger series would be a great HBO or Showtime series, it could never be a 2 hour movie unless they did it as a series of films ..

So, those are sunglasses they hand out instead of 3D glasses for the movie?

They already decided to do the Gunslinger series. They had a lead actor and everything but that fell through. Ron Howard to direct. The plan was very ambitous, they wanted to do a movie, then pick up at the end of the movie with the TV series, then when that series season 1 was over, release the next movie that pick up at the end of season 1, then season 2 picks up at the end of the second movie, etc. It was all laid out, but a lot fell through when various studios backed out, etc.

Thanks William, I do remember reading a small article last year or maybe two years ago that had stated that it was a go ahead! Too bad. frown.gif
Now watch those same studios come out with more crap that had a bigger budget than the proposed movie.
