Thanks for the recommendation! I did indeed enjoy Sharknado and recorded Sharknado 2 on my TiVo. I wasn't sure I would watch the second one, sequels to cult classics being what they are, but may do so now.

I like UTD better. But the Sharknado movies were good for a bunch of laughs. I guess UTD is too.

Funny... my brain also went to that seen from Blazing Saddles where the new town sheriff takes himself hostage and threatens to kill the hostage if they don't step away.

Leaving Big Jim makes sense... but Jr was a kid... I think it was like 17 years ago or something when she supposedly "died" but really just left. So, leaving your crappy husband is one thing... but faking your death and abandoning your kid and leaving that kid with the crappy husband AND where you think they one day will be trapped inside a dome... that's kind of sleazy of the mom to do... looking out only for herself, and not Jr. Maybe Jr is so screwed up because Big Jim raised him instead of mom.

After the big buildup to the revelation that Junior's mother killed herself last season, it seems clear to me that she was supposed to be really dead. Stephen King just decided to directly contradict things the series had already established in the season 2 premiere, because either a) he didn't bother watching the other episodes first to know what had happened or b) he just felt like trolling the other writers to make the rest of season 2 even more silly as they tried to clean up (or more accurately, double down on) the mess he made in the premiere.

Maybe Big Jim's wife DID die, but the lake will bring her back too!

Heck, the lake could be responsible for new characters EVERY week!

Barbie is jumping also, thanks for the previews, I guess they won't kill them and the abyss leads to something and Lyle, Sam and Barbie are alright, I can almost bet they appear on Zenith or something.

Don't know if they time forward it but the windmill wasn't assembled, then they hoist the thing up with ropes, but who climbed up to secure it?

I'm also guessing they used a pump to get the water up there..

Loved how spritzing a little water in the air instantly stopped the dust storm within seconds. Every time I think the show can't possibly get any dumber, it manages to amaze me.

Yes, a bit of water washes out the dust from the entire atmosphere in the dome, just like a few chemicals poured into a lake instantly clears the "blood" from the rain already in the air, or a "home-made" electromagnet can counter a huge electromagnetic field that is powerful enough to pull nails out of the supporting beams of a house, or, for that matter, a man would just willingly jump into a bottomless pit and end his life rather than continue to strive for life.

But there is a secret that makes it possible to enjoy such shows ...

hmmmm....

the one kid who goes out to play in the dust storm is asthmatic?

the dead girls "friends" includes the girl who hates her guts?

Big Jim hoists up the water spreader attachment all by himself? And in the long shot of that happening, it's not very dusty?

Sam telling Barbee as they are bonding about how hard it is to see someone you have killed alive again. That would be hard on anyone. And if people come back from the dead, why not use that? We need to kill the four, but that's not so bad, they will probably just come back anyway.

Actually, it sort of makes sense in a Domish kind of way. Prius might be the only car around that can keep running indefinitely since the Domers presumably have a finite supply of gasoline, but an infinite supply of propane. Propane runs the generators that make their ample supply of electricity. And Prius' can run on electric power only (assuming Julia had the foresight to buy the plug-in version that can be attached to a generator with its handy-dandy included power cord). So, voila!

Of course, it could also mean GM didn't pony up the sponsorship bucks to plug the Volt instead. Cheapskates.

Yes- Julia did have the good fortune to buy the PIP (Plug-in-Prius), we've see the charge port on previous episodes- it's a big deal on the Prius forums. Plug in full charge gives you 11 AE (All Electric) range in the PIP without using the PIP's gas engine.

Too bad GM didn't give her a Volt- I get 50 AE range out of my Volt vs 11 AE range from the PIP.

Yeah, we're looking to go hybrid. The gas savings are substantial. From what I understand, if you do a lot of short-trip city driving the PIP Prius makes sense (my buddy gets around 150 mpg with his and scarfs free juice everywhere he can ), but if you do a lot of high-speed freeway driving the Volt is the better choice because of the longer AE range.

When Sam jumped into the hole it looked like he just vanished instead of falling to his death. Did anyone else notice this?

I wonder if Sam knew about this place all along and had planned to jump into the hole from the beginning. Why else would he stop Barbie from falling off into the pit? Maybe Sam didn't want Barbie to find out the secret of the bottomless pit?

Not to get too far OT- but I have 6,500 mi on my Volt and have used 16.1 gal of gas.
400+ mpg isn't to bad
If you can live w/a 4-seater the Volt may be for you...

I've had the regular Prius, the PIP, and the Volt- PM me if you'd like to discuss hybrids Arch..
