You assume that Spielberg has anything at all to do with the day-to-day production of the show. He does not. Spielberg puts his name on dozens of projects. In most cases, his involvement is limited to helping them secure financing and then he walks away.

Most likely you're correct- but he's tarnishing his brand by just rubber stamping turds like Dome.

In a departure from its signature drama procedurals, CBS has given a 13-episode straight-to-series order to Steven Spielberg and Stephen King‘s Under The Dome, a drama based on King’s bestselling 2009 novel, which will be produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Television.

Will you read every script of Extant?
Yeah, I read every script that my television company Amblin Entertainment develops. I’ve read every script on Extant and I’ve sat in the writers’ room occasionally to just sort of brainstorm. I don’t break the stories.

For some reason- I thought she looked especially fetching in the last episode?

Not a new phenomenon for Spielberg. Take a look at his IMDb page some day. His brand was tarnished long ago.

If the Showtime original plan to produce had panned out, I think we'd have seen a completely different show .. the book really is some great horror work and begs for an unfettered by network TV production ..

Those that have read it know what I'm talking about ..
