He can't die. Because he should have died so many times already throughout his "days"... In a way I see him like Batman, he's a "symbol" of hope in this f-cked-up society. Sometimes with a lot of collateral damage but the job gets done. 24 without him wouldn't be 24, unless another character (Kate?) can take over and be the same "symbol". But it would be ungrateful imo to let him rot in Russia. Looking back at those 9 seasons, he has done so much, not only for his country but for the whole world, it doesn't make sense. He deserves more. While I don't expect him to mow lawns or take care of grandchildren, I think this character deserves some happiness when they decide to retire him.
Since 24 is popular and Kiefer has to retire one day, Fox might just get another actor like James Bond (007) and many other characters. :/

I think it's pretty clear that considering how this day ended, we'll see another installment of '24' some day. They're not going to let Jack rot in some Russian prison any more than they would have let him rot in a Chinese prison.

I'm betting FOX feels the ratings were strong enough to commission another summer series along this same format. They weren't great, but they didn't suck either. FWIW, I was surprised they weren't higher. There's a built-in fan base that will guarantee a certain Nielsen number.

"The good news is that the season 9 finale drew 6.5 million viewers with 1.7 million in the 18-49 demo, although producers surely would have wanted a stronger ending. For context, MasterChef drew more viewers in the key demo.

But with so much buzz around the show, some feel that Fox may make a renewal announcement at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego."

Fingers crossed.

I heard he crushed a competitor's handlebars with his thighs and hacksawed another's front wheel off. Jack Bauer hates to lose.

The most shocking turn of events was that Jack Bauer was not awarded The Most Aggressive Rider award at the end of the stage.

No announcement of any sort at Comic-Con. It was just a panel discussing about Live Another Day. They did admit they "copped out" on the ending.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...es-fans-720922

Quote:
Suthlerland also stressed that producers had a new kind of freedom to craft the ending that they wanted, and admitted — in a nod to the fact that Bauer survives — that on "some level … we copped out because it's hard to let it go."

"It's hard to end it. We came — ourselves, as people who are making the show — came full-faced with that," he said. "Trying to create the end of our show this season, because we had said this was the last season, was really difficult for us. All of us individually didn't want to let it go; we fought against it, we fought for it. Your response to the end of this season was really gracious and kind, so thank you very much."
Fox hasn't sat down to talk about it and there's still potentially a movie.

What's funny to me is early on in this thread, someone mentioned how they are running out of ways to have Jack kill people. Then he goes and throws a b---- out the window and samarai swords Chang. That moment was rather like when Aragorn chopped off the head of the head Uruk-hai at the end of FotR. You can just hear this collective "day-um" spread across the viewing audience. LOL

He drinks, he tackles Christmas trees, briefly gave up acting to be a rodeo rider, and fights people.

Kiefer Sutherland never really fit into the "safe" actor category. At least he isn't boring.

He never really elaborates on what makes Kiefer unprofessional just says that everyone feels the same way. If that's true why is Prinze the only one saying it?

At the 2:30 mark of this video Shohreh Aghdashloo (played Dina Araz) also talks about her bad experience working with Kiefer:

Didn't know her by name, but certainly by face. More impressive/varied career than Kiefer, certainly.

Mourning the disappearing usage of the -ly suffix. Words being cut-off before they've had a chance to fully form, left incomplete, with their shoelaces untied and their zippers undone. If I quote your post (or post in your thread) without comment, please check your zipper.

Sorry, unprofessional is stabbing a co-worker in the back. As noted, Kiefer had only positive things to say about Freddie. What else has Prinze done except marry Buffy?

Many short actors do the same thing - so what? Get the shot and be done, stop your whining.

Kiefer's been known to be a douche but it's pretty low of Prinze to whine publicly about it 5 years later. An interview during the filming of Season 8, Prinze had nothing but good things to say about Kiefer.

Prinze must have had years of nightmares, sleepless nights and demons to deal with if it bothered him so much to bitch about it now.

Anyways, Kiefer's rep responded, ""Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr. more than 5 years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie's grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best."
