There's also the fact that it takes two weeks, typically, to film a show like Shield. Then editing time. At some point, even if they start shooting early in the summer, air dates catch up with production, and there's no new episode to air. You need a break to finish more new shows.

It's not a problem with Netflix or Amazon, doing 8-13 episode series, on any old schedule they want. But when you are talking about a show on a normal network schedule that starts new episodes in September and makes 22, you gotta have breaks in between. That's always been true. It's just that they don't like to show rereuns as much now.

I think that would be counter mission statement for her to dress like that on the show.

Show would have been 10x better if Ward had simply died on that planet and never seen or heard from again.

As you've doubtless realized after seeing this week's episode, the new character is going to have plenty of screen time.

Maybe not. It looks like he is going to attack The Iron Chef, and that could end up bad for him....

So what's the deal with the spaceship scene at the beginning of the episode? That was a weird non sequitur that never came back around again.

No, foreshadowing is when current events give a hint as to what is going to happen in the future. Showing a glimpse of the actual future is just a cheap trick to try to boost interest in a show's current events. I'm getting rather tired of that ploy, and it was completely ineffective in this episode, since aside from the woman's cross, it had no connection to what's happening in the present and thus didn't mean anything.

I assume that the spaceship will come back around again in a future episode. But as a teaser that opens the episode, you expect it to show up with another appearance at the end of the episode. Instead, it's never mentioned again.

I liked the episode overall, but between this and the limp cliffhanger of Ward blowing dust in the general direction of Malick's henchman, it felt very sloppily structured, like some additional scenes may have been cut for time.

A future episode that will be 3 months into the future, right about the time the show wraps for the season. We'll probably see what it's all about in the season finale.

Elsewhere someone mentioned that was about the time frame for the "Captain America: Civil War" movie release.

AND we now know that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been picked up for another season, so they know how this season can end and how the story can progress in the fall.

Yep, May 6th seems to be the release date and would fit perfectly. I think there are 8 episodes left this season and that would put the finale on the Tuesday before the Friday, May 6th premiere date for the film.

The show has picked up its pace. I am enjoying it. I wonder, though, if we are going to see the inhuman of the week while slowly progressing the zombie Ward/Hydra story.

I hope henchman doesn't bite the dust (haha!). I want him to bring Ward zombie his dinner on a rolling cart under a cloche and dramatically reveal the secret meal.

I thought it was one of the quinjets tossed into low earth orbit. I didn't see the cross in the quinjet, so the new Inhuman reveal confused me, and had me trying to figure out a connection to Rosalind.

To me it looked like the cross Yoyo was wearing was different than the cross floating inside the quinjet in space. I could be wrong.

His demeanor and actions at the reception just reinforce my belief that the show is trying to do a caricature. That was awfully tone deaf.
