After this week I've got about one episode left in me. It's becoming a generic spy procedural with occasional SF elements, but it's not even close to the excitement or cool of Alias or the fun and charming comedy of Chuck, This show wants to be both overly dramatic and funny at the same time and the only thing this week accomplished was dumb and dumber.
I thought Christian Slater on My Own Worst Enemy saying he had broken a pistol when he released the magazine was the nadir of firearm stupidity on television, but Skye not being able to remember which is the safety and which is the release was just a new low. At least Slater's character was a bumbling office worker and not a tech genius who is being actively trained by elite forces. Bad writing for a cheap gag.
The glasses were another dumb moment of writing. The show actively comments on his man hands but at no point did anyone suggest wearing gloves of any kind just to make it less obvious? Not to mention the multiple times his hands would have been in clear camera view during the drive and the fight. The show even cut to a scene focusing on someone putting on gloves.
And the "geniuses" in the van? I think the reason these guys are in flying plane completely alone is because they all failed to qualify for a position on the Helicarrier.
