Ahran is a contender! It has been proven the kids are showing the adults how to do it right!
The MC kids really put lots of HK's and MC contestants to shame!

What's Ahran's background/experience? There's no way that an 18 year old would have that much culinary experience from just putzing around the kitchen at home. She must have had some formal training.

Cutter has been mouthing off since the beginning but I'm really disappointed by the hostility shown by Daniel. Daniel seems to be a good guy but was juvenile in yesterday's episode. I haven't seen anyone being ganged up so badly like Leslie does in Masterchef. Not even Krissi from last year was this almost universally hated.

Leslie just needs to keep making solid food and all the whiners will be gone in time. I have him as one of the best on the show.

Well he couldn't cook decent eggs earlier and even the toast burned on him... maybe the reason the blue team lost.

Whatever the reason in the kitchen if those eight people had not walked out, the blue team probably would have won.

I hope Leslie makes it to the final two. I certainly don't get all the hate the contestants have for him, but he certainly seems to be able to cook. And Cutter certainly had a major problem in this last episode. He behaved like an ass.

When they were announcing who won, I knew it was going to be the red team. What didn't happen is, I expected them to mention the blue team might of won if they didn't lose the 2 tables.

Everyone reacts differently to pressure. The type of pressure offered with serving lots of people can be detrimental to some.

Even thought it was a packed diner, they have two teams, 14 people cooking. That's more than any number of cooks I've seen in any diners. So I often wonder those people that left without the food, were they encouraged by the producer to do so to create drama? You see this in Hell's kitchen and here a lot. It's pretty obvious that the meal was free to those patrons so why would you want to leave just because it's a little longer wait? The situation can't be that bad when you are mostly serving bacon and eggs.

Does Dinah has that many people coming and going in real life? or was it jammed packed because there was free food and you'll be on national TV?

It still takes up your time. Even for a free meal I would not wait around very long. Heck I would avoid it anyway since I have zero desire to have a camera poked in my face or be on TV.

It's easy to sit on the sidelines and say 'Hey! I could do a better job than that!'. As someone who has BTDT it's really not as easy as it looks

I watch Hell's Kitchen as well and it just baffles me that many of those folks will wait up to 3 hours for food. I'm patient, but not that patient!

They aren't there for the food, they are there for the chance to be on TV and additional exposure for celebrities.

I was hoping Courtney would get knocked down from her high horse. She clearly has the skill but her personality is the pits.

Cutter's strategy is clearly "how I do don't matter long as someone else's dish is worse than mine". Next week is the team challenge and if he's on the winning team, he might actually survive one more week. Crazy!

You can say what you want about Courtney but this broad got chops and a pair of heels to match.

My guess is that Elise's panic attack was caused by the judges forbidding her from making a pie with salmon fillings. I think she's a better chef than Cutter but she just couldn't hold it together in front of the camera.

The most important discovery of the week is Gordon can fillet, Graham can cook and Joe can eat. I'm impressed by Joe of his sublime eating skills for after 4 seasons of watching this.

You know I watched Hell's for years but last year and this the Talent (or lack thereof) has been pitiful, I cannot figure out how they dig up such poorly skilled groups of so-called chefs - after all these years and they can't figure out and practice cooking scallops and Risotto BEFORE they arrive @HK or practice with a Dummies book.

Anyone applying for HK or MC should binge watch past episodes and practice as they repeat much of what they do YTY. Going in without doing so is sort of like a Law student taking the Bar Exam or a CPA without any study - it doesn't work. Preparation meets Opportunity not the other way around. These folks on HK often appear to be Deaf/Dumb/Blind to fundamental cooking skills when they show up at HK.

Most of the Talent on Master Chef simply blows away HK line cooks.

MY ?

Cutter - Ouch! How bad can this get "Artisan Pizza" atrocious, two weeks in a row he should've been gone and his defensiveness/rudeness amidst the crap he's put on a plate = dismissal he's a one trick pony with something but can't recall what as his platings have become pathetic - me thinks were he armed he'd put one between Joe's eyes.

Leslie? - Talented and hated perhaps because he lives a life of privilege on Malibu but he makes it easy for others to dislike him when he doesn't need to and it makes you wonder if the producers foster that. His primary fault appears to be his inability to manage/lead a Master Chef kitchen and as this winds down this may be his failing rather than his cooking abilities.

There appears to be a lot of talent in this MC pool and very superior to HK. I stopped viewing HK because the talent and the people seemed to be pulled from the gutter and got tired of the arguing/conflicts and ugliness and pathetic cooking skills with little to no preparation compared to Master Chef talent/people.

Well any of the shows can only pull talent from the people that entered. And then some people crack under pressure. So there could be good cooks but under pressure they just don't make the cut.

I see Hotel Hell with Gordon Ramsey also started last night. I got some good laughs watching that after I watched Masterchef.

HK contestants are usually Line Cooks, not Chefs. Real "Chefs" wouldn't subject themselves to the abuse and humiliation. The more experienced cooks are usually ones that survive to the end. Most of the ones that leave in the early rounds are there for their 15 minutes of fame, possibility of prizes/rewards, and the maybe a stipend paid by the show. I guess it beats slinging hash for a few weeks. And maybe they can figure out a way to make money from the exposure. Unfortunately, the nature of the show rewards crude behavior and language. The more outrageous and crazy you are, the more likely you'll get camera time.
