I had a hunch this show might be good. Is this some of the "changes" that Comcast's takeover of NBC has wrought? Much like I was surprised with "Hannibal", I liked this show which was devoid of the tired old dumbed down schlock of many US network shows. It played like a foreign series like the ones I frequently watch on Netflix and no wonder because IT IS an entirely foreign produced series.

Agreed, this has the feel of a good Brit series even beyond the Euro setting, and it is one to my liking. I thought it well cast although I had trouble catching all the dialog with some accents and mumbling delivery. The principal characters appealed to me, but they are going to have to step up the villains' portrayal to maintain interest.

Honestly, if you take away the foreign locations and international cast, it didn't feel fresh at all. Cliched characters, dialogue and situations, and pretty pedestrian writing in general. Lots of a tortured souls with pasts and loads of self-doubt. The two team member's attraction to each other seemed really forced and clumsily written, and of course a mere plot device to raise the stakes when she dies. And what about the nebbish little bad guy? I thought that police woman could have smacked him around--I've never seen a less physically intimidating baddie. All in all, not impressed.

I enjoyed the Crossing Lines pilot. There is nobody better than its star, William Fichtner, and Donald Sutherland always manages to make everything he is in better. Best of all, though, is the inclusion as a regular member of the cast of the terrific German actor, Tom Wlaschiha. I thought his appearances in Game of Thrones as the enigmatic but lethal Jaqen H'ghar were memorable. The Crossing Lines' two hour pilot had a darkness and unpredictability about it that I liked. It seems to me that this show is off to a good start and I am looking forward to seeing more.

It sure seemed like they couldn't make up their mind which of William Fichtner's hands was injured. When he was working on his gun early in the show his right hand was the bad one. When he left his trailer it was still the right hand.
Then when he picked up the piece of trash it was the left hand that was bad. When he confronted the man at the carnival it was the right hand again.

Yup, I saw that right off and thought "oh no this is going to bad if they can't even get stuff like that right" but it was okay from there on. I like the non-US setting and it's also summer fill time so unless it gets really bad I'm in for the duration.

I didn't catch that when I first watched the episode but went back and saw that place in the pilot again after I read your posts. You are right! In the first shot of Carl picking up trash in the amusement park, he is spearing the trash with his, supposedly crippled, right hand and putting it in a trash bag, the strap of which is over his right shoulder. Then, we see a closeup of the sleazeball who was berating his wife but when Carl speaks to the guy we see that Carl is now holding his trash spear in his left hand and the strap to his trash bag is over his left shoulder. I didn't see any more continuity gaffes as glaring as that, though, thank God.

I recorded the pilot of Crossing Lines last week, then totally forgot to watch it. NBC replayed it last night, so I watched the first half "live" and then realized I also had it on the DVR. The pilot really held my attention, and I will add it to my "watch" list for this summer. I thought it was very good and also enjoy William Fichtner's characters, no matter what type of roles he has.

I missed the pilot , but then found it on NBC-on-demand in wide screen but SD , I really enjoyed the pilot from the get go .
2 back story arcs with 2 members having a agenda for revenge that will play out in the back ground of the weekly episodes . Donald Sutherland having a "outside the lines" plot arc himself . That's a great combo of all the members having a past & how they will interact with each other . Rewatched in HD last night I missed the letter box of the D/L but the HD made up for it bigtime smile.gif .
Too bad they killed off the blonde I liked her character , the French woman detective is HOT ! eek.gif

Yeah, I couldn't believe the writers saw fit to knock off the blonde. I also can't believe Fichtner's character said, 'No thanks," to the French detective's "offer" in the trailer near the end of the show. Too much baggage too soon in the series, I guess. She is pretty hot, especially as she was walking away. smile.gif

that was the Carney women that he helped with the boorish guy giving her a hard time at the Carnival wasn't it ?
I just rewatched the scenes with the french detective & the woman for the carney , it's the woman from the carney that comes to the trailer in the end , they look alike but the carney women is slightly bigger frame & a different shaped face , she also thanks him for coming to her rescue but says that someone like him doesn't Just show up one day to clean up garbage .
those carney workers travel in small trailers like that & I assume that all the trailers are in a temporary lot from/near the carnival , I'm guessing that Fichtner character is hunting the guy in the other trailer & took the carney garbage job to stalk him . the women also guesses that as well & let's him know about his movements while he has been gone .

Thanks, you are probably right because your version makes more sense. I was getting a bit sleepy at the end, so I may have been a tad confused (not unusual for me sometimes). confused.gifsmile.gif

I was totally confused as well when I watched the 1st time on who she was , she looks really different @ the Carney as she was in full make-up & had a long full dress that made look much larger than she appeared to look like in the trailer in jeans & a tight shirt . I was thinking as she walked away from the trailer in those jeans " I'd tap that ! " cool.gif

Although it wasn't as intense as the pilot, I liked last night's show and am in it for the long haul.

I think the cameraman just had the "Mirror Image" function turned on and then they decided to just leave it as only us folks on the forum would probably catch it. wink.gif

The redhead Italian chick on the team is a knockout! She has a spectacular body. eek.gif

As for the show, I'm on the fence right now. I enjoyed it, but felt the 1 hour episode went by too fast and didn't hold much intrigue. This felt so much better as a 2 hour show as it had time to flesh out the story.

Anyone heard if this is coming back next summer? Watched the final 3 episodes over the weekend and I quite enjoyed it. As summer fare on network TV goes I thought this was pretty decent, the international cast and locations was a big part of why I liked it. Some of the acting of the peripheral/guest characters wasn't all that great, but I though the main cast were good and made the stories interesting.

I would like to know this as well. I searched and found nothing. I would hate to see them end with multiple loose ends.

I have liked the show, but the last two episodes packed to much into the show. Just to many coincidences.

My new favorite game is Save The Titanic

Let them kill off Louis. He looks like a younger Jürgen Prochnow to me and just gives me the creeps every time I see him on screen.

Oh, and put Eva in more skintight outfits. biggrin.gif

If there is a second season, bring back Louis' old partner, played by Alice Taglioni, who showed up in the last episode. What a rack! IMDB says she is 37, but looks like she should be in her 40s, very hot 40s though.

anyone hear when this is gonna be shown on NBC this summer
the 2nd season has be in production for awhile now
seems it was a big draw in many countries world wide
as It's not owned by NBC as it could pop up anywhere if the idiots at NBC don't pick up the 2nd season
Netflix is now showing season #1 So if anyone missed parts of season #1 Or what to view the show again
Carrie-Anne Moss is slated to have a multi episode plot arc as well as Ray Stevenson (played the russian gay hit man Boss on Dexter) in the coming new season .

I've got my fingers crossed. It was a nice change of pace, especially for a Summer show.

with NetFlix now doing last season there's a good chance NBC will continue to show it , look what NetFlix did for Breaking Bad , not saying this is any where near BB in quality but I thought Crossing Lines was a quality show & had high production values , I liked the Euro flavor to the way the scenes were shot cool.gif
