Well you would consider it "context" as most of the lines from last season are not carried over (serial killer). The only one that will be is the missing women of Juarez along with the "personal" stories of the main characters. Much of what happened in the 1st episode was to lay the groundwork for the "new" path the show is going to take. I for one am liking this better than the 1st season and I really liked the 1st season.

Do these extreme tattoos help actors get certain roles?

You see the guy in Leftovers and you see it and you're taken out of the moment, wondering if it's the actor or suppose to be the character.

These days, tattoos are so common they no longer make a statement, other than "look at me!"

An actor or actress with an attention complex? Imagine that!

All points that Eleanor found out somehow Yovani was an undercover DEA agent and that's why she killed him.

Still wondering what Fausto wants with her? kill her or marry her? LOL

Bichir's brother character is so creepy, notice the same tone of voice? if he removes his glasses and grows a mustache they are almost twins... LOL

Poor horny teenager had it coming, he even willingly stepped onto that plastic, Dexter style?

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

Could they make the scenes a little darker, I could almost make out some of the show, if they can make it just a little darker I can just use my imagination as to what is going on half the time, and it's not just 'The Bridge', it just seems to be the new thing.

Most interesting moments (to me):

The dog.
The body in the taxidermists basement.
The teenage boy who never watched a Dexter episode.

I expect the heavier DEA agent will be dead by the end of this season.

Taxidermist is the new Linder?

Yovani was her muscle man? He wasn't a DEA agent, he's the guy that didn't follow instructions and came across in the same line as Eleanor, he was killed because he was an idiot.

I think Fausto wants her back because she's a highly efficient enforcer/killing machine, and knows darn near everything about his business, some one who he would not want to fall into the "wrong" hands.

The teenager sequence I thought was weak, it was telegraphed from the moment they first met.

Awesome show. I watched all of season 1 in 2 days I had off of work and the family was out of town. Season 2 is going to be more intense

Does she really have those tattoos or are they fake? I've seen her in other roles, but I don't recall her showing much skin to know if she had those.

The show is much darker than last year, both visually and storytelling.

Two episodes and no Linder yet. That's a fail.

Don't worry, he shows up quite a bit in the next episode. Annabeth Gish appears as well.

Some are real(the dragon) and some are fake(pretty sure the stuff across her chest is fake) although I'm not entirely sure. I did a quick Google search and the only one I noticed was the dragon, and I believe there's something on her lower back. The rest of it is make-believe as far as I can tell.

I loved the first episode of this season, but the second one didn't grab me. Talked to a friend who had the same reaction. Maybe its just us, and we've become jaded by so many great shows on FX. Its hard to say what our problem with the episode was, other than the unpredictable has become predictable. What is supposed to be quirky, even shocking, is now becoming almost SOP. And by trying to constantly surprise us the writers are actually weakening the story.

Or maybe we were just in a grumpy mood when we watched.

I have liked the show even better this season than last. Its ensemble cast has been remarkable, particularly Diane Kruger as the socially limited Sonya and Demián Bichir as the tortured Marco. Both characters have a lot of baggage but the performances make them believable. Speaking of believable, Matthew Lillard as the alcoholic and neurotic Daniel Frye has been wonderful too. Although Franka Potente gets on my nerves, I concede that she has been excellent as the homicidal Eleanor Nacht. In short, I think The Bridge is a terrific series that so far has shown no signs of losing a step.

Although the 2nd episode was well done, it was pretty obvious that the teenager was doomed as soon as he decided to help Eleanor at the very beginning of the show. I guess the only surprise would have been if she hadn't killed him.

I agree. This is a terrific series that I look forward to each week. The character flaws in the main cast members make it even more interesting. I've been a Diane Kruger fan since her Troy, Wicker Park, and National Treasure days.

IMDB has a nice shot of the dragon on her right arm. There may be a small one on her right shoulder blade, but plenty of shots of her chest reveal no tats. I couldn't figure where I knew her from until I saw all the picts with Matt Damon from the Bourne movies.

You can see some of her chest in this latest episode... (then we see way more of Diane Kruger also, no tats on her.. )
Eleanor is not toying with the police? I wonder if she also killed that day laborer, but I don't think so, she chose the least likely candidate to rat on her.

Finally Linder is back and with a vengeance!.

Oh God another dead animal, not looking good for animal lovers..

What was the deal after the Mexican guy killed the cross dresser and freaked out when he saw that object on the mirror?

All of the religious items probably made him feel like that he had committed a tremendous sin by executing that particular person, or something like that. It fits with the heavy religious tone of this season.

It's weird that a "sicario" (hitman) will feel remorse... he was clearly there to kill the guy, at least he didn't ruin his face (one would think he'll shoot him in the chest but he had to knife him?)

What is the problem with FX and Directv and the closed captions?, they are so out of sync and late, they are the same way on 'The Strain' too, I watch nearly everything with closed captioning and I don't notice many problems with the exception of FX and I've checked the Comcast broadcasts of FX programs and they are pretty well in sync, but not on Directv.

I've noticed that as well and I've just chocked it up to yet another crappy DIRECTV implementation of something that should be easy, these DVRs have several annoying issues. Just to turn CC on and off takes far too many buttons presses. The software on these units feels as if they're in a perpetual beta state of development.

I thought it was a rather slow episode. I think one problem is there are too many characters in the show. I know they all tie together, but it strings things out a bit.

It's to the point they need captions for Linder. I couldn't understand half of what he said last night.

Closed captions? Mumbling?

But no mention of Eleanors "thing" in the cage? Ruiz as a double agent (of sorts). Who is the guy who had girlyman killed? Why did Jack take that drawing (and leave the rest)?

Are they going to pick up the storyline about Emily's missing sister? I thought the producers said one of the threads this season was going to focus on the missing women?

Btw, I have no problem understanding Linder. Are you certain it's not something to do with your speakers or sound system? I'm using a standard 5.1 Onkyo amp, without a sub.

Hard to say what's in the cage, at first I thought it was someone who has been in that cage for a very long time, but then thinking about how much hair was on those fingers and how fast it snapped at her offering it got me thinking it might be an ape.

Ruiz is very interesting to watch as he is walking an incredibly dangerous line, a razor's edge you could say, as he navigates his way through the story.

Not sure about the heart stabbing guy, pretty sure he works for the cartel but not sure who the guy in the car was, didn't seem like cartel though.

I think Jack took the drawing because it reveals something he doesn't want revealed, I think he is involved in her sisters killing somehow.

The missing women story is being explored through Adriana's missing sister, and I think that story will expand as the season moves forward.

That is my thinking as well. He knows that Sonya is extremely fixated on the killing, and him being a part of her life will have her explore every possibility of him being involved. She likely requested the choking to get a better idea of what kind of person he is.
