You guys want to see a show about surviving you should watch Naked and Afraid. Two people are dropped off in a remote area, stripped of all clothes and given one item they are allowed to bring. They then have to survive weeks. The only time crew will inerrupt is if they are about to die or they can't secure food in 3 weeks (at which point they would die) or water in like 3 days. Amazing show. The producer was scouting a camp locaton and got bit by a snake and lost most of his foot because the snake was the most venomous snake in the world and it started dissolving his flesh.

Its truly a survival show and some cannot make it and quit because it can get pretty harsh.

I watched all of the episodes. I had thought of starting a thread but never did. My wife wouldn't watch at first.. she thought it was dumb (because of the naked angle). After the first three episodes she decided to give it a try and was hooked . . . tongue.gif
Luckily I still had the older episodes on the DVR for her to watch... smile.gif

You're correct. And I think Australia didn't have much water either but they were next to a stream or river. But you notice that ever since then, it's been tropical settings. There are probably logistical and financial reasons too, but the producers probably figured out that the more skin shown, the more ratings. I would hazard a guess that you'll never see Survivor: Alaska, either. At least not in the winter time.

And there is the Colton we all know. That sure didn't take long. Goes to show you, a person really can't change who they are.

Man, bummed Rupert is gone, but that challenge was not geared towards him.

It drives me CRAZY how the effeminate-i-ness of Colton's voice constantly varies.

Yeah, I'm not a fan either. He acts more effeminate than ANY of the women out there. Gay or not, he's just not a likeable person.

I also found it ironic how he hates the whole tribe "kumbaya" thing, but it was perfectly fine during his pity party around the camp fire in the first episode.

I hope that Coltons' mention of throwing a challenge is a foreshadow of his tribe doing just that, to vote him off.

Better half hates survivor but while i'm watching last night she turned to look at the tv and said OMG i thought that was a girl talking.

More on him, I cannot stand that guy. They need to get him out ASAP.

Redemption Island (Redemption Fort?) doesn't work for me, the game is so much better without it.

I would rather have a second challenge for a reward, and a tribal council that had dire results, than this mess.

For me Colton is not on survivor. That means I turn of sound and close my eyes whenever he speaks.

That said, I would really love it if I was able to see both tribes, from the same camera, at the last stage of the challenge, so I can evaluate each ones progress and see the winner win the loser.

Why did none of the returning players vote for Colton to be eliminated Day 1? They knew he was poisonous around camp, and behaved in generally disagreeable and hostile ways.
Also, his loved one seems like a sensible person, from what little we've learned of him thus far; however, he could not have much discernment to be so close to one so purposefully cruel.

I like the twist for Redemption Island. It justifies bringing back this option in the game in my opinion. Say what you will about Colton he had a point. I am not sure what the returning vets were doing for the first few days. It could be a bit of editing magic that "no one"was talking strategy. Once a loved one leaves the game it lives the remaining player a real advantage in the game. While everyone else has to worry about a partner the solo play is free to play the game as ruthless as they want. They also are less of a threat once the merge happens.

I myself can't stand Redemption Isle .. give me a reward challenge instead ..

Wednesdays preview had Colton prancing over to his partners side of the Redemption Arena and sitting on his lap .. that should incur some sort of penalty or get him ejected, IMO .. I'm sure the rest of the cast would have liked to have some contact with their loved one ..

Rupert, Rupert, Rupert .. what were you thinking .. ?? Concentration, slow and deliberate wins that kind of challenge .. and you've played this game how many times now .. ??

I knew Gervase would not swap with his niece ..

I'm gonna harp on Colton some more .. eek.gif

The guy is plain out unstable, IMO .. and a few of the comments by his team mates to the effect of ..

"Colton claimed he wanted to change his image and that lasted about a day and a half"

"Colton is nothing more than a gay Russell Hantz" ..

Brandon, Colton, Russell, Agent Phil .. what would it look like if they all came back in a future season and on the same tribe ..

I don't mind RI combined with the loved ones twist. It seems to be making things somewhat unpredictable and forces the newbies to overthink the game early on. Colon is certainly obnoxious but he has been neutralized by the more savvy players and unless he gets saved by a tribal swap fairly soon he could be playing carnival games on RI. After two episodes there is much less drama this time around compared to last seasons first 5 episodes.

That's why I wonder if the usual misdirection of the promos might actually be right this time.  Maybe he really does quit?  I wouldn't mind!

He will never be asked back, if that is any consolation, Jeff so much as said so... " so we brought a quitter back who quits again" I am sure the producers are livid.

It was great hearing Jeff just flat out tear him apart. I hope he isn't even at the reunion show.
