I am someone who really loved S1, and the bailed quickly on season 2. I recorded last weeks opener after hearing about the new and improved season 3. About one-third in I thought there was not enough going on to interest me any longer. It seems they can't put the Genie back into the bottle.

That's what they announced when they were basically rebooting the series.

I was ready to dump this show, but the season opener was good enough to bring me back next week. Here's hoping it stays 'good enough'.

I thought the "whites of their eyes" tie-in was pretty good, and I am still amused by the constant digs at Ben Franklin.

Came here to see what the consensus was for S3E1, but so far looks like split decision. Like everyone else I was highly disappointed with S2 and have S3E1 on the dvr, but I keep hesitating every time I consider watching it. Think I'll let a few eps build up and come back to see what you guys think after a few more episodes. Got too many shows to watch anyway, so I'd be ok with dumping this, but if it really has picked up some steam. . .

I liked the season opener and haven't watched the show since Moloch's demise. I was way behind in my TV backlog at the time and the extreme and unanimous negativity towards the last half of season 2 convinced me to not bother with the rest of it.

I have welcomed it back though, I love Ichabod's rants about present day America and various grudges with the founding fathers and the season opener did that pretty well. It's back on my record list for now.

Too bad the episode itself was pretty lame IMO.

I need to get back into this show... I like all the main actors and characters, but the plot has left me wanting a lot of the time.

Well I hate to say it, but ... I'm out. S3 is better than S2 but it's still not must-watch TV. My time is too precious to hope that this show gets better. We'll always have S1, gents. I may go buy the blu-ray just for old-time's sake.

Reminds me of Casablanca's, "We'll always have Paris", but then I think that probably was your thought also.

S1 was fun and over the top, S2 was cluster**** mess that constantly changed directions due to obvious rewrites to the point where they had to press the huge reset button, S3 so far has been paint by numbers, it's serviceable but nothing special or unique to really be invested in the next episode.

I'm sticking it out until the Bones crossover - I haven't seen Bones since midway S1 so thought it might be interesting to see if they have any grandkids yet...

Despite seeing the crossover mentioned earlier in the week I still forgot it was happening. So if you are like me you might have to track down the Bones episode online at fox.com or using FOX Now before watching this week's SH.

Pretty weak crossover. The episodes were barely related. You don't really need to watch Bones first. But it got me to watch Bones for the first and last time.

The same here. That was the first and last time I watch Bones. That is unless there is another Cross-over.

I was surprised that Bones is in it's eleventh season. This will probably be it for Sleepy Hollow. Although at least we did get a third year.

It was weak, while the Bones portion had all 4 main cast members involved pretty much throughout the episode, the Sleepy Hollow portion had maybe one scene with the Bones pair.

still like this show. they missed the boat after an excellent season 1. seems like the person in charge of season 2, who killed the show, is gone.

What I don't get is simply this: in Bones, there is no "supernatural" level of reality, right? Supernatural explanations for things are against the "rules" of the show, no? But now we know that Bones exists in a universe where supernatural explanations are sometimes the only ones.

This seems like a pretty trivial reason to have undermined the whole basis for Bones (a show I haven't watched in many years), retroactively. I guess they just don't care.

Exactly, it was a random crossover between 2 shows on the same network.

Bones has been on the air for a million years in network terms. They'd put a singing polar bear that juggles chainsaws on the show if they thought it would boost the ratings of such an old clunker.

So am I the only person who finds Joe Corbin's character to be a total dufus? He blurts out the first stupid / dumb / bad idea he has which of course was not the previously agreed to plan and of course apologizes after.

Yes, I can see why his dad mentored the Mills sisters instead.

I miss Clancy Brown. Wish they'd find away to bring him back like a glowing Obi-Wan character mentoring the sisters.
