There's definitely something not right about the husband and with everything Red has said and proven to be true she better listen to him.

Red either lied... and he is her father... or he told the truth... the show can still play it either way. He has lied as misdirection before.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

My take was her father is the man who brought her up... regardless if he was her biological father or not.

I told myself before starting to watch Kevin Bacon in the execrable "The Following". I was wrong.

Yeah... that was one of my thoughts as well... he was actually honoring that guy by saying no to her question... even though biologically he may still be her father.

That was my reading. Having it turn out that Red is, after all, not Lizzy's biological father, would be so preposterous, I can't imagine that even the writers of a Big 4 network show would entertain it. If they do it, though, I am out.

They have Red's DNA, you'd think she could get a test done pretty easily.

I like this. Also like the uncle or godfather possibilities. Or a promise to a dying comrade who saved Red's life, any of these. Or, Occam's Razor could apply - [Vader] Lizzie, I am your father! [/Vader] tongue.gif

If any of those explanations were true, there would be no reason not to tell her straight out. I think the reason he has not said anything is that he is afraid of being shunned by her if she knew the truth.

Also... IF he is her father and comes clean with it... that raises a whole bunch of other questions that they want to drag out. IF I'm right and he is a deep cover CIA black op person... then he probably isn't exactly the bad guy he appears to be, though he surely did bad guy things to cement his persona... so he probably can't come fully clean until he has rid the world of all the worst of the bad guys... or the show is cancelled... whichever comes first smile.gif

There was quite the pause (dramatic effect or not) when he said he Is-int her father. I think he lied. When he talked to her "dad" before he killed him he said she cant know "right now".
IDK this show is awesome cant wait for next weeks episode

Yeah - there are often these kind of "gaps" in the show.

Like when Lizzy went to "find" the car with the remote - and was joined by "the cleaner" without telling her where it was.

Or the super-sophisticated tracker that doesn't know when it's been ripped out.

Or that an Adoption agency would give a kid to a Federal Field Agent household.

Still a great show...as exciting as "24" without devolving into "just tell me what I need to know" being shouted each episode.

Omg this is so predictable it's like a soap opera, it's not even cleverly done, it's just throwing it all at you. Entertaining nonetheless... Except the chick's voice not believable when she tries to have the upset yell sessions

I like your theory, because then perhaps Alan Alda represents the CIA, and not some other, even MORE dangerous criminal organization, which in my opinion is a bit more interesting. In that scenario, he is a FORMER deep cover agent.

What I enjoyed about Alan Alda's performance was that he wasn't playing an over the top, histrionic evil bad buy, which I have seen him play before. Rather, he was playing the role of disappointed parent, teaching their teen a hard lesson. He wasn't angry - he was just explaining the rules of his house, and trying to figure out if Red did or planned to break them. Nothing more. I wonder if at some point Alda and Red were partners of some sort.

Yeah... there are a lot of ways they could go with Alda's character too.

IF Red is deep cover CIA, then Alda could be his handler and be genuinely concerned about Red's recent things and endangering other CIA operatives... OR Alda could be a corrupt CIA double-agent and this is why Red can't come completely out of the cold, because his handler has gone rogue and Red has no proof of his deep cover assignment.

Those add more layers, to me, to the story than if Alda just turns out to be another bag guy with an ego.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

No spoiler needed in this forum since it has aired.

She was taken to task for not shooting him the first time, hence the reason she felt she had to shoot him that time.

I was disappointed how there wasn't a new episode last night. Figured it was new since most of the shows are coming back this week. I believe Law & Order: SVU is all new tomorrow, so why not The Blacklist?

I dunno.... All those geezers that make up CBS's audience are well-known for tuning in and letting their sets go on autopilot while they fall asleep in their recliners. And a good number of them seem to be Nielsen households. frown.gif

Josh Holloway may or may not have picked the right show (I understand he's basically channeling Sawyer), but he sure picked the right network.

Hey, as an old geezer, I resemble that remark. My brain is like a DVR when I'm asleep and can watch several shows simultaneously. wink.gifbiggrin.gif

Not for me. In my market the CBS prime time runs from 7:00-10:00 PM. Although as a viewer with 6 DVRs it really doesn't matter how they schedule shows.

Yeah, me too. I have a 4 tuner DVR and many of the shows I watch are either on a premium movie channel or a cable net like AMC or FX, where they are shown multiple times during the week. Who,me worry? smile.gif

I wouldn't be caught dead watching a show in real-time, and if Intelligence keeps insulting my intelligence it gets gets just one more shot and to the contrary The Blacklist is coming on strong.
