Loved the taxidermist villain. He was really creepy. And, enjoyed the turn by Peter Fonda. I also thought the idea of an international criminal cartel of wildlife poachers/green phonys was inventive in the ever more difficult search for new baddies on TV shows, which continuously recycle the same bad guys to kill or capture.
There's two guys. One appears to be a guard Lizzie arranged, but that isn't clear. The other is the "shadow" Reddington assigned to keep an eye on or "protect" Lizzie. It was the later who asked if she was going to tell Reddington.

Good call. He looked familiar but I didn't make the connection to MIB and Lurch until you pointed it out. If I saw him coming at me in the woods I'd whip out my Noisy Cricket.

They took a break last season as well. they had no episodes from December 2 to January 13

They're going to put that new Katherine Heigl show in the MOnday 10 pm spot to see if the voice lead in helps it be a hit.

^Yeah, as one of my friends put it, Katherine Heigl + Intelligence (CIA) don't go together. I'm not sure that show has legs. But we shall see.

I'd rather watch reruns of The Cape than that new Heigl show.

Heigl is beautiful and charming, so she has always been terrific in romantic comedies. But I really can't see her as a secret agent, or even as an intelligence analyst. Include me out.

I agree that accepting Megan Boone as an FBI agent, which her character Elizabeth Keen is supposed to be, requires a high capacity for suspension of disbelief. But to me, The Blacklist is all about James Spader's, Red Reddington. He has been so terrific I have consistently enjoyed the show, despite its mediocre (at best) supporting cast. In fact the supporting cast is so poor, it seems to me that Boone's performances have been above average.

The show is driven by Spader. Without Spader this show doesn't make it past 10 episodes last year. His acting combined with the dialogue they are writing for him carries the show.

And Megan Boone is sneaky hot.

Yes, that whole conversation was full of statements and clues that this woman was not Red's daughter (and that Elizabeth Keen is). But why does Berlin think she was killed by Red if she's very much alive? Did Red hide her all these years just to mess with Berlin?

The last two weeks of this show have been very confusing to me.

Someone told Berlin that Red killed her to get Berlin to go after Red. The previews seem to indicate the Red wants to know who put them on a collision course.

It also should be very clear that Red didn't hide her. He spent considerable resources to find her (indicating he didn't know where she was). I expect we will find out more of the backstory in the coming episodes.

Blacklist moves to Thursday, after the holidays and will likely be pitted against Elementary.

With the advent of DVRs, OnDemand, and streaming does it really matter when it airs? The whole idea of airing shows "against" another seems very antiquated.

We have an older DirecTV DVR that allows only 2 programs to be recorded at the same time (I could be mistaken, but some TIVOs have the same restriction). With the number of choices available, we have, on occasion, done some fancy dancing to get all the programs we want. Any time more than two favorite series are programmed "against" each other, hijinks ensue.
