This show is a perfect example of how not to write a good show and I look forward to the season being done so I can finally be finished with this waste of my time. The only reason I am still watching is because it was a few episodes after the the fall finale that I realized there was no hope for this show to ever turn things around (finally accepted it simply wasn't going to happen) and I had already invested half the season so I may as well stick it out for the other half...(Yada, yada, yada)
This show is an inordinate success because the real goal is to see how many gullible people the writers/producers can manage to entrance into a mindless state wherein they loose capacity to keep from tuning in and once having done so, loose the ability to change channels/turn off the torture they are enduring. It is a study in mind control of the mindless. With this viewer, it is working.

That's good news as my DVR was being conflicted. Less conflicts on Monday.

I'm okay with the series, but have to agree that it has been less than what I expected. I was left with a big "huh?" with the last twist. How did the events around Liz unfold? Tried to use the spoiler tag, but it didn't work so I phrased it as generically as I could.

While not ever stated explicitly... I assumed Liz was contaminated at Union Station.

Consider the sequence of events... Red gets the call from the girl saying "that guy is back", so Red tells the group "go get him at the apartment." But the evil-AG commands that they instead be sent to Union Station.

Red is surprised that someone was at Union Station, since the assumption was the AG misdirected them to help the other guy escape... so why was there someone running around Union Station and why did Liz get attacked?

I surmise that the "attack" on Liz was when she became infected... it transfers by touch... so she is jumped at Union Station, knocked to the ground and infected.

That's why the AG wasn't worried... he knew they didn't uncover the whole plan, which was not just to kill that guy but also to frame Liz.

The Doctor... the Original, you might say!

I hadn't thought it through - thanks for explaining!

Edit> Wait though - that would mean killing the kid wasn't a test, it was to lead them to the senator. And Red fell into the trap. And the talk with the AG only served to confirm that his plan was working perfectly. Infecting Liz before they identified the senator was OK I guess - if they hadn't worked that out on their own the AG would have planted more clues...

NBC loves to put a new show that they want to push after the Voice. This season it's Blindspot.

side note...what is it with NBC and 1 word show titles.

Maybe she'll be a little more interesting on the run.

I can't help thinking if they had cast someone like Jennifer Carpenter the show would be smoking the ratings...

The kid was probably a little of both... a test to be sure the targeted virus worked, and a breadcrumb for Red to follow later.

In any case it's distasteful to me for Red to get played so effectively, especially so soon after his improbable survival. Having him lose control of events so completely IMO takes the show in the wrong direction.

OTOH Liz on the run is (I assume) a clever way to elevate Tom's role...

Red gets played all the time. I've lost count of the number of times Red has been misdirected.

Remember when he was caught by the bad guys who invaded the FBI base? Remember just a few episodes back when he was bribing that one guy to vote for the next cabal leader... only that guy turned around and voted differently than he told Red he would vote?

And while we didn't see it... they talk about how Berlin hired Tom from under his nose... so Red gets played all the time.

I liked the episode.

I guess next year will be all about redemption. I found it interesting that Ressler and the task force are going after Liz, but if she had not killed Connoly then they would have all been out of a job or worse.

It seems like they forgot that the disease is spread by contact. So everyone who came in contact with Keen after she was infected should have been infected also. It just would not have made anyone else sick.

As I understood it, the disease was genetically formulated to be harmful to the senator only and now that he is dead it's of no consequence to anyone else.

I see Tom Keene drives the same Mustang as that guy in the commercials.

Well we had to wait through all the morass to get to that, but that was pretty good.

Interested to see where they take it next season. I just cannot accept a nice, clean neat happy ending that somehow it all gets resolved and she and Cooper are back on the task force etc.

We still don't know what happened to Liz' mother or why Red cared about Liz.

Why hasn't Liz tested Red's DNA to see if they're related?

There was dialog in the show a couple of times that said the FBI compared DNA of Liz and Red and they were not related. Of course, there are numerous way to write out of that box if they want to.
